    Molnár-Institute hosts DryLab® Masterclasses

    news-releasesMolnár-Institute for applied chromatography
    December 11th 2017

The Molnár-Institute for Applied Chromatography will host a series of Masterclasses on HPLC & UHPLC method development, as well as Separation of Therapeutic Proteins (Biopolymers), using its proprietary DryLab®4 separation modelling software.

Three day DryLab® (U)HPLC Method Development Masterclasses will be held by Molnár-Institute in Berlin between March 19-21 and also September 24-26, 2018. They will provide extensive training using DryLab®4 modeling in which users learn to improve and transfer methods, focusing on decreasing run times while maintaining selectivity. The courses also teach participants systematically to develop by creating multidimensional DryLab®4 models depicting the interaction of up to 12 influential HPLC parameters, for superior regulatory compliance and faster market entry.

    DryLab® Masterclass Modules

Each Masterclass comprises a series of modules, including:

    • Optimization of Gradient Profiles and Critical Resolution in (U)HPLC
This module covers using DryLab® to design and optimize gradient profiles, forecast and control peak movements, evaluate gradient effects on resolution and develop optimized strategies for separating small and large molecules.
    • Efficient (U)HPLC Method Development
The method development sessions cover use of DryLab® for design space visualization, extensive reduction of method development time across HPLC Types (RP, NP, HIC, HILIC, IEX) along with evaluation of method robustness and determining MODR.
    • Regulatory Compliance and Data Integrity
The Masterclass will also show how DryLab® can aid compliance with FDA and EMA Regulations, including Inspection Proof Methods, Quality by Design (QbD) principles for analytical method development, recording of full method development cycle and control of knowledge management documentation for data safety and integrity.
    • Method Transfer Management
This module covers requirements for transfer safe methods, post transfer management and OOS handling, control of instrument specifications and their influence on selectivity, plus substitution of outdated columns.
    • Method Design and Redesign
This module will discuss USP advanced method design for bioseparations, conversion of obsolete and outdated methods, multi-column method design and method transfer to modern (U)HPLC Instrumentation.
    • Efficient Eluent and Solvent Management
The final module provides trainees with optimum techniques for In-Silico Analysis, how to develop economically and ecologically favorable methods, extending column life, optimized utilization of solvents and identifying alternative eluents.

    Biopolymer Method Development

Molnár-Institute is also offering two-day Masterclasses on Method Development for the Separation of Therapeutic Proteins (Biopolymers). This course provides extensive training on (U)HPLC method development for separation of therapeutic proteins, including fundamentals of reversed-phase (RP), ion-exchange (IEX), hydrophobic interaction (HI) and size-exclusion (SE) chromatography.

The Biopolymer courses explore various two- and three-dimensional (3D) optimization models for all the above-mentioned chromatographic modes, while also demonstrating fast and efficient method adjustment, transfer and robustness testing.

These Masterclasses will be held April 23-24 and October 29-30, 2018 and will include actual examples of separating monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) and related products, such as antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs).

    Early registration discount

Molnár-Institute courses are taught in English by Dr. Imre Molnár, Dr. Hans-Jürgen Rieger, and guest lecturer Alexander H. Schmidt, founder and president of Chromicent GmbH. Each brings in-depth knowledge and experience to the classroom in both theory and practice of HPLC.

Registrations made 10 weeks prior to start of course will qualify for 25 per cent discount on seminar fee.

Molnár-Institute can also offer similar in-house courses in English or German at company locations worldwide.

    About Molnar-Institute

Molnár-Institute for applied chromatography focuses on new strategies for improving the efficiency and success of modern high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) through its method development software DryLab®, HPLC and software training courses, and HPLC consulting.

Since its foundation in 1981, by Dr. Imre Molnár in Berlin, Molnár-Institute has followed a consistent mission, to form a center of excellence to save, reduce and optimize method development and run time in HPLC.

The institute supports ongoing research and development at universities and corporations worldwide with a team of chromatography specialists devoted to improving global health care and to ensuring the development of safe and effective products in the pharmaceutical, life-science, and food industries.

By applying its proprietary method development software DryLab® in conjunction with rigorous methodologies, the institute is able to optimize method development and reduce method run time in HPLC and UHPLC. Using real data from a minimal number of experimental runs, DryLab® builds multi-dimensional selectivity maps depicting the interaction of the most important parameters influencing an HPLC separation. This systematic, guided method development process can halve development time, help users optimize parameters based on their specific method goals, and enable easier compliance with regulatory standards (QbD).

Dr. Imre Molnár is the president of the Molnar-Institute, which is a privately owned organisation, headquartered in central Berlin.
