MEDELPHARM demonstrates scale-up and QbD capabilities at CPHI Milan

Beynost, (Lyon), France: – Research-based manufacturer and powder compaction specialist MEDELPHARM provided compelling demonstrations of the scale-up applications of its sophisticated STYL’One instruments at the recent CPHI 2024 expo in Milan.

MEDELPHARM was present at one of the world’s leading pharma industry shows as an exhibitor on the Armor Pharma Booth 6F59 at the Fiera Milano convention center.

Live demonstrations

The exhibit featured a STYL’One Nano Compaction Simulator, showcasing its compact design and advanced capabilities. Head of MEDELPHARM Science Lab, Adrien Pelloux, used the instrument to conduct live demonstrations, using Armor’s EXCIPRESS™ lactose grades.

One of these demonstrations showed how the STYL’One Nano can be used to secure scale-up with non-speed sensitive lactose right from the development phase by assessing tableting behavior of pharmaceutical powders.

QbD methodology

The second demonstration illustrated how to ensure dosage uniformity in mini-tablets with high-flowability lactose, showing how STYL’One technology supports Quality by Design (QbD) methods to ensure robust oral solid dose (OSD) development.
