Liquid handling and dispensing systems

Ritter Medical has more than 50 years experience in making high precision plastics for medical use. It offers high precision liquid handling and dosing equipment that includes Ripette® manual and automated step dispensers and a wide range of precisely engineered Ritips® sterile and disposal syringes and nozzles.

Ritips® are engineered to provide excellent results with the Ripette® dosing systems as well as with most other popular step dispensers. Ritter Medical works in close cooperation with customers to develop new solutions for special and emerging applications.

Liquid handling stepped dispensers

Ritter Medical’s Ripette® ranges of stepped dispensers are designed to meter precise volumes of liquid for testing or dosing applications. All Ritter liquid handling dispensers are designed for robustness and long service life and to be clear, ultra precise and ergonomically friendly in daily use.

Ripette®
Ripette is designed to be ultra-robust and mechanically reliable with very few moving parts. This manual dispenser’s light weight (105g) and easy push action make it suitable for long dispensing series. Ergonomic design allows single-handed volume selection, loading and dispensing. User can quickly select the ideal setting for the particular application, choosing between highest precision or maximum repetitions of target dosage volume.

When used in conjunction with Ritips®, the Ripette’s concise handle-mounted dosage guide table allows the user to define best tip for application at a glance.

Ripette® is available in five different colours; Blue, Gray, Red, Pink, and Neon, to support multi-dispenser operations.

Each device is tested for functioning and precision to DIN EN ISO 8655 before serial number is allocated and is covered by one-year warranty.

Ripette® pro
Ripette®pro is designed as the handy choice, allowing the user to work flexibly and easily. The Ripette®pro dispenser is designed and constructed around an ultra precise and consistent mechanical action. This makes the Ripette®pro essentially maintenance-free and independent of additional resources such as power supply or batteries.

The Ripette®pro is optimised for dispensing of contaminated fluids and volatile liquids. Using Ritips®pro and other compatible plunger dispenser tips, the Ripette®pro is secure from contamination by aerosols ascending from tip and offer long-term secure use even with highly fluid samples.

The dispenser offers a very wide choice of dosing volumes, allowing quick tip changes between 12 tip sizes. When with ten stepped volume settings, this provides 120 program steps for single push dispensing of metered volumes ranging from 1 nanoliter to 55 ml.

The ergonomic form is designed for easy and comfortable use. The low weight combined with easy to operate dosing thumb button allows extended dosing series to be dispensed quickly and comfortably.

Ripette genX
Ripette genX combines the convenience of electronic dispensing with ultra-accurate dosing and a very wide range of program settings. The automated dispenser is battery operated with a charging stand available. A direct charging option enables dispensing while in charge.

The clear electronic display combined with auto sensing of fitted tip (when used with Ritips) provides instant and precise selection and confirmation of the pipetting volume to be dispensed, ranging from 1 nanoliter to 50 ml in a single dose.

Bottle dispenser
Ritter Medical also produces an ultra convenient Mini Bottle Dispenser for quick and easy dispensing of liquids in volumes of either 5 ml or 10 ml. Metered dose is selectable by twisting a pivoting adjustment wheel and then operating the centrally mounted plunger.

After refilling, the system is primed by pressing the plunger a few times to bleed air. The bottle is then ready for repeated use.

The bottle dispenser has no metal valves and is made from shatterproof polypropylene with very high chemical resistance. Only maintenance required is rinsing and drying, with occasional wipe down with a damp cloth, using soapy water solution if necessary.

Dispenser tips

Ritips®pro
Ritips pro is Ritter’s new generation of plunger dispenser tips, purpose designed for high precision laboratory liquid handling, with a form that is ideal for test tubes, etc. Ritips pro range features nine tip sizes for stepped dispensing volumes ranging from 1 μl to 50 ml. Every single tip is subjected to automated, individual testing to ensure 100 per cent reliable and repeatable results.

The tips are suitable for direct displacement dispensing of viscous, infectious and volatile liquids. When used with the Ripette® genX, embedded ‘smart’ capabilities allow ideal tip size to be selected on the interactive display.

Tips are available as standard and single wrapped. Ritter bioclean® quality, confirmed by independent laboratories, certifies the tips are sterile and free from pyrogene, ATP, RNase and DNA impurities. Certificate for each batch is available on request, with lot number recorded on each box for full traceability.

Ritips pro precision dispenser tips are available in standard and bioclean® formats, suitable for:

Ripette®, Ripette®pro, Ripette genX, Eppendorf Multipette® and Multipette® plus, 4780, Minilab 100/101, STEPMATE, EasyStep, Gilson Distriman®, Brand HandyStep® or HandyStep® electronic.

Ritips®
Ritips® provide a valuable supplementary range of precise ‘in-between’ sized tips to support ultra-specific applications. These tips are manufactured to the same standard and bioclean standards at Ritips pro and support the same wide range of stepped dispensers.

They offer useful extra volume choices: 0.5 ml, 1.25 ml and 12.5 ml.

Like Ritips pro, each Ritip incorporates an individual data code for auto tip recognition.

Pure clean origin
The label on every Ritter liquid handling and precision dosing product is a guarantee of highest quality to ISO-certified standards. Ritter liquid handling systems and consumables are made from certified pollution-free plastics that can be biodegradable as well as recyclable where necessary. Ripette® and Ritips® ultra-pure construction materials eliminate risks of residues or additives falsifying the results of highly sensitive analyses, etc.

Ritter’s modern 25,000 m2 production facility is certified to ISO 9001:2008 and EN ISO 13485:2003 + AC:2009 standards.

All Ritter liquid handling and dispensing devices are inspected for product quality after manufacture to meet DIN EN ISO 8655 standards.

Dispenser calibration
According to DIN EN ISO 8655/7.3, dispensers must be rechecked for accuracy once a year. Ritter Medical operates a calibration service that accepts customer devices for checking.

Calibration can also be performed in-house, using detailed instructions for DIN ISO 8655/7.3 or a chart available from Ritter Medical that provides technical data needed for successful calibration check.
