Classifications

Every hazardous material is assigned to one of nine hazard classes as defined in by international guidelines such as 49 CFR 172.101 and 173. The nine hazard classes are:

• Class 5: Oxidizing Substances, Organic Peroxides

Identifying the classification of dangerous goods is the first step toward proper management to reduce the hazards through appropriate packaging, labeling, handling, transport arrangements, storage and documentation.

Transport

Drivers are trained and certified state-recognized training course according to §32 and corresponding certificate of competence according to §20 of the regulations.
