ME Logistic Services brings lithium battery expertise to specialist conference
Büchenbeuren, Germany – All-in-one packaging and distribution service provider for the life sciences industries, ME Logistic Services, brought its expertise in handling lithium batteries to a recent specialist conference.
ME Logistic Services was an invited attendee at the January 2026 Fachkonferenz Lithiumbatterien, a trade conference and seminar series for lithium battery manufacturers, logistics providers and carriers, held in the North German city of Göttingen. The conference placed particular emphasis on evolving ADR Compliance and other regulations shaping the recycling and end-of-life management of batteries.
Lithium battery expertise
As an experienced shipping and distribution specialist with in-depth knowledge of the challenges associated with packing, transporting and disposing of lithium batteries, ME Logistic Services is an established presence at the annual Fachkonferenz, attending for the seventh time.
The multi-day event provides a platform to share knowledge and best practice with more than 100 organisations with a direct interest in lithium battery technologies and safety. These include engineering firms, waste and recycling specialists, and users from the life sciences, pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors.
Specialist seminars
ME’s participation at the Fachkonferenz was led by CEO Thorsten Mentges, who took part in seminars including Expert Road Transport of Lithium Batteries, Lithium Battery Logistics and Storage, and Lithium Battery Recycling and Disposal—all key areas for the company.
A further important session focused on lithium battery fire safety and featured expert input from Dr. Anita Schmidt of the German Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM), addressing the challenges associated with combating battery fires.
Sharing best practice
Following the conference, Mr. Mentges commented:
“The remarkable power and compactness of lithium batteries have enabled many breakthrough technologies and innovations, not least in medical research and healthcare. However, these benefits come with risks. Lithium and sodium-ion batteries present potential fire and explosion hazards and must be handled correctly.”
“The Fachkonferenz provides a valuable opportunity to stay up to date with the latest regulations and best practice, while also sharing knowledge and insights with industry peers, based on our in-depth expertise as an all-in-one shipping solutions provider.”
