L.B. Bohle White Paper: Film Coating Technology

L.B. Bohle Maschinen und Verfahren GmbH (L.B. Bohle) has released a technical White Paper on features, applications and advantages of its platforms for film coating, which has become an important process step in pharmaceutical industry manufacture of oral solid dose (OSD) forms.

The White Paper L.B. Bohle Coating Technology provides a guide to film coating applications and processes. It particularly focuses on the influence of pan geometry, helical baffle-assisted axial coating, and the unique Bohle air flow principle that utilizes inlet air from below the tablet bed to accelerate drying without heating the coater internals.

The White Paper shows how the cumulative effect of these technologies, combined with high number of spray guns, can radically increase coating efficiency and reduce process time. It also discusses optimal cleaning in place (CIP) arrangements that can apply to L.B. Bohle film coaters.
