Brevetti Angela to launch major new SYFPAC® DUO™ BFS platform at CPHI Milan

Vicenza, Italy: – Leading manufacturer of Blow-Fill-Seal (BFS) pharma packaging machinery, Brevetti Angela Srl, will use Europe’s leading pharma industry event, the 2024 CPHI Worldwide Pharma Expo in Milan, as the launchpad for its latest SYFPAC® DUO™ BFS packaging system.

This will be Brevetti Angela’s sixth successive appearance at CPHI Worldwide. It will use its stand at Booth 18D41 in the Pharma Machinery (P-MEC) zone at the Fiera Milano to display its wide range of advanced pharma aseptic packing solutions. The company hopes to repeat its success with the last CPhI Worldwide show held in Milan in 2021, where it showed its SYFPAC^® TWIN machine, attracting major visitor interest.

Presenting SYFPAC^® DUO™

The centerpiece of the Brevetti Angela display will be its latest SYFPAC^® DUO™ platform, which will be presented in full working demonstration mode from inside a simulated clean room.

Full details of the new SYFPAC® DUO™ will be released in Milan but Brevetti Angela is already billing it as the ‘Fastest, Smallest, and Safest Blow Fill Seal machine’ on the market, due to its advanced capabilities. One of these is for the same basic machine to be seamlessly upgraded from micro-scale 4,000 units per hour up to hyperproduction at 40,000 per hour. Combined with its very compact footprint of only 6m², the DUO™ will have the highest productivity/size ratio of any BFS machine.

The DUO™ is a revolution in the Blow Fill Seal world, as it introduces the Closed Parison technology in Brevetti Angela’s  SYFPAC machines, which allows containers to be formed and filled under Grade A conditions in a closed system, meeting and exceeding EU GMP Annex 1 requirements. SYFPAC DUO also breaks new ground in incorporating Insertion Technology that enables aseptic production of new and cost-effective drug delivery devices such as prefilled syringes, multidose eye droppers, etc.

Flexible, sustainable and smart DUO

The DUO™ is also notable for its extreme flexibility, particularly in potential to upgrade the same machine so that productivity can be approximately doubled at each step, from a base 4,000 units per hour up to a maximum  40,000 units/hr. Like all SYFPAC platforms, it can process PE, HDPE and PP plastics with only HMI recipe changes, with DUO now boasting industry-leading rapid mould changeover times.

Plastic waste is the lowest in the industry, as scrap is reduced to less than 6%, making it close-to-zero waste. Other notable improvements in DUO™ are the groundbreaking process monitoring system, and the possibility to support cold production of biologicals and vaccines at well under 25°C, which is unprecedented in a closed parison BFS machine.

The DUO™ is targeted as an ideal solution for producers of vaccines, injectables, eye drops, biologicals, inhalation devices, small-volume parenterals, and highly potent/toxic formulations needing BSL level 4 isolation.

Expanded range

The DUO™ will take its place on the Brevetti Angela stand that will also feature its existing SYFPAC® platforms like the SYFPAC® LVP for aseptic filling of large-volume parenteral bottles.

Once again, Brevetti Angela will share its stand with sister company 3CK, maker of revolutionary silicone-free O-Flow prefillable syringes, who will also display its latest C-PAD injection device as a prefilled syringe that can be produced on BFS machines.
