Brevetti Angela to co-host Blow-Fill-Seal seminar in South Korea

Vicenza, Italy: Leading pharmaceutical packaging machinery manufacturer Brevetti Angela Srl is extending its series of technical seminars on Blow-Fill-Seal (BFS) technology to the rapidly expanding South Korean market.

The one-day seminar will be held at the Ansan Square Hotel, southwest of Seoul, on September 2, 2026. It is being staged in cooperation with Swiss leak detection and visual inspection specialist WILCO AG and the companies’ regional representative, Hahnson Impex Co.

New Blow-Fill-Seal advantages

The seminar will allow Korean pharmaceutical manufacturers and packagers to explore how advanced Blow-Fill-Seal and leak detection technologies can support faster, more flexible production while helping them meet increasingly stringent regulatory requirements.

Brevetti Angela will provide an in-depth introduction to its SYFPAC® DUO platform, illustrating the latest developments in Blow-Fill-Seal packaging for small-volume parenterals. The compact and scalable system combines the aseptic advantages of continuous closed-parison operation with the format flexibility of insertion technology. It can accommodate a wide range of formats, including pre-filled syringes.

Systems in synergy

A further presentation will examine how Brevetti Angela and WILCO technologies can operate together as an integrated production and inspection solution. Using a German Blow-Fill-Seal facility as a case study, the companies will demonstrate how advanced filling, leak detection and inspection systems can support sterility assurance, process control and production efficiency.

Brevetti Angela Technical Sales Manager Massimo Consolaro will lead the company’s presentations. Later sessions will cover WILCO’s latest leak detection solutions for Blow-Fill-Seal containers and examine the development of the German packaging facility.

Insights from COPHEX

The seminar follows Brevetti Angela’s participation in COPHEX 2026 at the KINTEX exhibition centre in Goyang City, where the company gained further insight into the changing requirements of Korean pharmaceutical producers.

Around 30 Korean pharmaceutical companies now use Blow-Fill-Seal, principally for ophthalmic, inhalation and controlled-drug products. However, interest is expanding into applications including general injectables, small-volume doses, preservative-free formulations and high-volume production. This growth is being driven partly by increasingly stringent aseptic processing requirements, including those set out in EU GMP Annex 1.

Addressing Korean challenges

Korea’s growing success as a pharmaceutical exporter is also creating capacity challenges, particularly for small and medium-sized manufacturers with limited production space. Compact, highly integrated systems are therefore attracting increased interest, alongside continuous closed processes offering enhanced sterility assurance and process control.
