Brevetti Angela and 3CK bring C-PAD to PDA Universe of Pre-Filled Syringes
Vicenza, Italy: – Leading manufacturer of Blow-Fill-Seal (BFS) pharma packaging machinery, Brevetti Angela Srl, and prefillable syringe specialist 3CK will again form a significant joint presence at the Parenteral Drug Association’s 2024 PDA Universe of Pre-Filled Syringes and Injection Devices Conference, returning to the USA to be hosted in Phoenix, Arizona.
The return continues Brevetti Angela’s long association with PDA-organised events over more than a decade as a leading force in parenteral pharma packaging. Since 2022, it has been joined by sister company 3CK as an innovator in the specific field of pre-filled and pre-fillable plastic syringes.
Introducing C-PAD
The two companies will share a tabletop exhibition platform at Booth 610 inside the South Building of the Phoenix Convention Center. A centerpiece of the display will be 3CK’s latest innovation, the C-PAD injection device.
C-PAD is a prefilled syringe that can be produced aseptically on Brevetti Angela SYFPAC® platforms using BFS technology. The device has been designed in collaboration with Path Foundation to provide easy and affordable contraception and mass vaccination for low-income countries. It has an intuitive design that makes it easily used for discrete self-injection.
C-PAD increases patient safety with its auto-disable feature that prevents it from being used more than once. Prefilling with no need for reconstruction avoids any possibility of cross-contamination or under/overdosage.
Brevetti Angela SYFPAC® insertion technology allows the device to be produced under closed and aseptic conditions and yet also ready for use with needle already in place. C-PAD is designed for simplicity with no other inserts like piston or stopper, and no silicone oil. The user simply needs to squeeze to inject, while the simple and robust form also makes the device easier to handle, transport, and store.
History of Prefilled Syringe Innovation
The PDA Conference display will also showcase a distinguished history of Brevetti Angela and 3CK innovation in the field of prefilled injection devices since the 90s, including squeezable syringes, more classic designs with stoppers and piston which have been capable of being manufactured on BFS platforms, for substantial efficiency gains. The long experience with injection devices led to the design of the silicone free O-Flow prefilled and prefillable syringe.
Brevetti Angela will also be able to show the PDA how those gains are about to become even more significant with the introduction of its latest generation SYFPAC DUO™ machine with its very compact footprint, scalability, and extraordinary versatility. The DUO™ presents manufacturers with ‘best of all worlds’ BFS possibilities in combining the aseptic advantages of a closed parison with the adaptability to novel devices like the C-PAD syringe, made possible by Insertion Technology, as well as its suitability for ‘cool production’ primary packaging of temperature-sensitive vaccines and other products.

Building on the success of past US Parenteral Drug Association events, the 2024 PDA Universe of Pre-Filled Syringes and Injection Devices Conference focuses on celebrating the latest advances in pre-fillable syringe technology and applications.
Themed ‘Injecting Innovation into Drug Delivery’, the Universe of Pre-Filled Syringes conference is a two-day event opening October 22 in the South Building of the Phoenix Convention Center in Arizona.
The conference is exploring diverse aspects of drug delivery, focusing on topics such as delivery of novel therapeutics, digital health, and sustainability.
