    October 9th 2018

Bubendorf, Switzerland: – Peptide technology specialist Bachem AG is to host an international webinar on Fluorescently-Labeled Peptides in late October.

The one-hour webinar ‘Fluorescently-Labeled Peptides – Choosing the Best Dye and Designing the Best Peptide’ will be hosted free on xTalks (www.xtalks.com) on October 23, 2018, opening 1400 hrs. UTC (1000 hrs. EDT, 1500 BST, 1700 CEST). Registration is now open at xTalks (see Resources).

    Third global pillar

Senior Bachem specialists will share insights on fluorescent dyes, imaging, peptides and custom synthesis, aimed at a practicing audience of research scientists and associates, Postdocs and PhDs, scientific advisors and R&D directors as well as product and marketing managers and diagnostics professionals from in vivo imaging, flow cytometry and microscopy labs.

This is the first webinar that Bachem has hosted since its successful session on “Peptides in Alzheimer’s Disease Research” staged in 2016.

Bachem’s decision to stage the English language webinar reflects increasing pharma industry and academic use of synthetic molecular probes labeled with fluorescent dyes as an invaluable technology for biochemical and cellular studies using confocal fluorescence microscopy.

    Selecting the right substrate

Bachem speakers will be Dr. Susanne Rodler and Dr. Stefanie Dobitz, both Sales Managers for Custom Synthesis and Marketing Specialist Dr. Erik Schrader.

They will present an overview of known dye labels and highlight new developments in this field, such as dyes suitable for the study of complex processes, such as receptor-ligand interactions or the visualization of cellular structures. We will also illustrate how to compare the performance of individual dye labels and give an overview over the commercially available options.

“We will showcase our synthetic capabilities as well as our portfolio of fluorescently labelled peptides and custom synthesis offerings,” explained Dr. Rodler. “In particular, we will be showing how to design the right substrate for your imaging applications,” she explained.

“It’s all part of our role as a Pioneering Partner for Peptides in helping our customers and partners get the very best out of the available technology,” said Dr. Rodler.

The webinar will include polling questions and a Q&A session, with opportunities afterwards for registered participants to contact speakers directly.
