Bachem presenting green technologies at in-cosmetics Global 2022

Bubendorf, Switzerland: –Peptide technology specialist Bachem AG will be a prominent participant in the upcoming in-cosmetics Global 30^th show in Paris, showcasing the key contributions its peptides make to the industry.

Bachem, which has an enduring relationship with the show, will be exhibiting from Booth 99 at the Porte de Versailles.

Green cosmetics offers

Its team for the event will include Stephane Lefevre and Stefanie Dobitz, both from Bachem’s Research & Specialties business unit who will be highlighting distinctive offers such as CMR-free Peptide Manufacturing Processes, Cosmetic Peptides, Quality Grade Cosmetics and Green Manufacturing.

Bachem will showcase its innovative approach to environmentally friendly production of cosmetics peptides when its Director Research & Specialty Chemicals , Dr. Isak Alim, delivers a presentation ‘Peptide Manufacturing – The Green Revolution’. Dr. Alim will be speaking (1315-1345 hrs.) as part of the Technical Seminars on the afternoon of Day Three of the show in Theatre 2.

Lowering Process Mass Intensity (PMI)

Dr. Alim will show how by peptides are involved in many physiological processes relevant to cosmetics, such as increased collagen production, and have various benefits in areas such as anti-aging, making them valuable cosmetic ingredients. However, state-of-the-art peptide synthesis requires large excess of reagents and solvents, leading to a high PMI (process mass intensity).

Dr. Alim will explains how Bachem’s exclusive Molecular Hiving™ technology co-developed with Jitsubo revolutionizes peptides synthesis. Reducing solvent and reagent consumption result in a lower PMI, the key measure for greener peptide manufacturing. It is especially suited for the synthesis of cosmetic peptides, as carcinogenic, mutagenic, or reprotoxic (CMR) solvents and reagents can entirely be avoided during manufacturing.
