Bachem bringing anti-aging peptide insights to Paris in-cosmetics Global show

Bubendorf, Switzerland: – Peptide and Oligonucleotide technology specialist Bachem AG will again be a high-profile presence at the upcoming in-cosmetics Global 32^nd knowledge-sharing event in Paris, with the inside story of its development of anti-aging peptide AAT-11 RI.

Bachem, which has an enduring relationship with the show almost from its inception in 1990, will be exhibiting its wide range of cosmetic related peptides, oligomers, green chemistry offers, and APIs from Booth 1J 108 at the Porte de Versailles.

Collagen-protecting peptide

Bachem’s team for the event will include Rajesh Mannancherry, Sales Manager for Specialities and AAD, and Gilles Parmentier, Head of Global Research Chemicals & Specialties. They will be highlighting distinctive offers in cosmetic peptides, such as Green Manufacturing and CMR-free Peptide Manufacturing Processes.

Bachem’s stand presentation will also highlight the introduction of AAPT-11 RI as a new peptide modulator to protect collagen from degradation. AAT11-RI is a partial retro-inverso peptide with potent collagen modulator activity and enhanced enzymatic stability that is now entering commercial-scale production at Bachem.

AAT-11 RI Development Story

The development of AAT-11 RI started from the identification and characterization of an enzyme involved in collagen degradation. The story of the subsequent journey through to a market-ready product, is jointly told by Gilles Parmentier and Prof. Paolo Rovero, in Bachem’s Day 1 Presentation to the conference, ‘Development of a New Anti-Ageing Peptide from Research to Industrial Production’ (April 16, 1205 hrs.; Hall 2, Theatre 3).

Dr. Rovero is a full professor of medicinal chemistry at the Medical School of the University of Florence and Editor-in-chief of the EPS Journal of Peptide Science. He will outline the key research elements in the development of AAT11-RI, and how it was informed by Bachem’s know-how in green chemistry applied to the synthesis of cosmetic peptides.
