Bachem attending high profile Chinese and USA events

Bachem will send a strong team to the prestigious TIDES USA conference, this time in Boston, Massachusetts, which is one of the pharma industry’s largest and most renowned events dedicated to accelerating peptide and oligomer-based therapeutics to market through expedited development and improved CMC efficiency. Bachem is a Diamond Sponsor of the event and will also contribute to the scientific agenda with a presentation on acylated peptide synthesis.

API China 2024

Bachem will also be present across the Pacific at the API China expo, which over the course of under a decade has become a central event in the Chinese pharma calendar.

API China is now one the country’s leading pharmaceutical shows, based on a huge B2B platform for trading, knowledge sharing, exchange and cooperation and with application fields that include API sourcing, pharma and biotech R & D, engineering design, manufacturing, and packaging.

API China 2024 is expected to attract more than 1,000 exhibitors and at least 60,000 visitors.

TIDES USA

At TIDES USA in Boston, Bachem will be an exhibitor at the Hynes Convention Center and will also make multiple contributions to the scientific agenda.

Vice President and Head of Oligonucleotides, Dr. Daniel Samson, will address the increasing need for more efficient routes for large-scale manufacturing of oligomers in his Day 1 Spotlight Luncheon presentation: ‘‘Going large-scale with manufacturing of oligonucleotides’ (May 15: 1205-1235 hrs.). This will provide an overview of Bachem’s existing oligonucleotide capacity based on traditional packed bed synthesizers from small-, mid-, pilot- to large-scale chromatography, along with a guide to its expansion to metric tonne capacity and more sophisticated capabilities, particularly in pioneering green chemistry techniques.

During the Pre-Conference Day, Bachem QC Scientist Dr. Priska Frei will make a presentation on ‘Analytical procedure development for novel peptides: from column screening to GMP releases’ as part of the AM4 Workshop on Analytical Strategies for Therapeutic Peptides. Dr. Frei will show how Bachem has implemented a holistic analytical control strategy that begins with product-specific understanding of related impurities, aggregation behavior, etc., that shapes state-of-the-art chromatographic detection methods. Allied with rigorous process development, this ensures stringent product specifications are met as part of a large-scale production campaign (May 14, 1145-1215 hrs.).

Bachem technology will also feature in a Day 2 presentation, ‘Fragment-based approaches for acylated peptide synthesis: An analysis of cost and capacity’ from Enzy Tag CEO Leendert van den Bos. This will explain how fragment-based approaches provide a meaningful alternative to linear SPPS for acylated peptides required in multi-tonne quantities for Type-2 Diabetes and Obesity therapies (May 16, 1615-1645 hrs.).
