Tomorrow starts today at HOF TECH Innovation Day

Lohra, Germany: European premium pharma solutions provider, HOF Sonderanlagenbau GmbH, will explore three key technology topics at its 2025 HOF TECH Innovation Day, a mixture of lectures through-out the industry and an open-factory event focused on the future of pharmaceutical production.

HOF TECH Innovation Day 2025 brings together people, technologies, and practical expertise. The full program combines networking with guided tours of the HOF facilities in Lohra and Mornshausen, along with in-depth technical lectures, industry case studies, and live technology previews.

The program also includes a dedicated networking event in Marburg, designed to inform, inspire, and foster dialogue between experts from pharma, biotech, and engineering.

Focus topics

The Innovation Day will focus on three key areas shaping pharmaceutical manufacturing:

• Annex 1 Requirements and Implementation: A technical lecture on Annex 1-compliant loading and unloading systems, including a regulatory overview and HOF’s engineering responses. The session features innovative solutions such as HOF SIRIUS robot-assisted tray handling and an exclusive preview of a new HOF product family designed to set new industry benchmarks. The discussion will also include a case study demonstrating how existing production lines can be upgraded to meet new EU GMP requirements without replacing freeze dryers or filling machines.

• Sustainable Refrigeration Technologies and Processes: This session focuses on regulatory and technical approaches to sustainability and energy efficiency in refrigeration systems. During the session an overall overview from regulatory requirements to sustainable refrigeration technologies to case studies from the industry wll be given.
• Process Analytical Technology (PAT) in Freeze-Drying: A presentation on how modern PAT tools are transforming freeze-drying, improving process control, and enhancing safety. The lecture will review current trends and include a case study on using mass spectrometry as a practical PAT solution for real-time process analysis.

Insights & Networking

The Innovation Day program include two-hour factory tours from 15:00 to 17:00 CET on November 11 and 12.

The main networking and knowledge sharing event begins on the evening of November 11  from 18:30 CET with a gathering at the Hotel Marburg, where the various presentations will be hosted from 08:30 to 14:30 the following day., followed by second factory tours.

The  special networking and discussion forum in Marburg will bring together leading experts from pharmaceutical, biotechnological, and technical sectors to exchange perspectives on the future of pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Senior HOF Sonderanlagenbau experts participating include Sales Management Engineer Johannes Kuhl, Sales Managers Peter Schneider and Julien Dietermann, along with guest contributor Dr. Emmanuel Baldauf, Certified Engineer at Vetter Pharma-Fertigung GmbH, specializing in injectable drug packaging.
