PHCbi’s Cryogenic Ultra Low Temperature (ULT) freezers offer unparalleled safety, reliability and uniform temperatures thanks to the application world-leading specialist expertise. PHCbi pioneered the development of cryogenic freezers, with Panasonic introducing the world’s first -152°C ultra-low temperature (ULT) freezer in 1991 in response to a growing demand for cryopreservation solutions following medical and scientific advances in biotechnology and genetics.
Since then, PHCbi has continually invested in the ongoing development of cryogenic freezers, introducing advanced features such as energy efficient cascade cooling, inverter technology, TwinGuard Dual Cooling System, patented VIP Vacuum Insulation Panels, hydrocarbon refrigerants, and hybrid water cooling.

Cryogenic ULT Freezers (-150°C)
PHCbi’s latest Cryogenic MDF-C2156VAN ultra-low temperature freezer offers unparalleled safety, reliability and uniform temperatures, incorporating advanced refrigeration technologies, ultra-efficient insulation, and sophisticated alarms and safeguards.
The MDF-C2156VAN-PE ULT Freezer is a quiet running mechanical cryogenic freezer that does not need liquid nitrogen to achieve an ultra-low temperature of -150ºC, instead using binary mixed refrigerants to avoid use of environmentally harmful chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs). With capacity of 231 liters, it is ideally suited for cryogenic freezing and long-term sample storage in laboratories and clinics.
Patented VIP PLUS insulation technology maximizes storage capacity over conventionally insulated models, while special foamed-in-place polyurethane insulation material ensures maximum cabinet protection.
PHCbi preservation systems employ advanced technology to ensure a high precision temperature environment, including a specially designed cascade refrigeration system and advanced microprocessor control interface via front mounted LED digital display and flat key data entry. This provides accurate temperature setting, confirmation and operation, as well as clogged filter check function.
The cabinet incorporates three levels of security with liquid nitrogen and rechargeable battery backup, power failure alarm lamp and buzzer and high temperature warnings, including remote alarm contact.
The inner cabinet maintains temperature safely below -130°C with ultra-low temperature created by advanced s and high-efficiency oil separator, that effectively keeps lubrication oil separate from refrigerant to avoid clogging problems and extend compressor life.
Compared to liquid nitrogen systems, Cryogenic MDF-C2156VAN offers clear advantages in lower running cost, easier maintenance, less reliance on liquid supplies, and minimal risk of sample contamination or sudden liquid eruptions. It offers a safe, convenient and user-friendly solution for long-term cryopreservation needs.

The Cryogenic MDF-1156 PE Ultra Low Temperature Freezer is a mechanically refrigerated cryogenic freezer that offers 128 liters of storage capacity. It can achieves stable long-term preservation of cells and tissues without using harmful CFCs, thanks to use of a PHCbi developed special mixed refrigerant.
The Ultra-Low Temperature Freezer conservation system employs advanced technology to ensure a high precision temperature environment, with specially designed compressor and cascade refrigeration system for an ultra-low temperature of -152ºC.
The freezing unit incorporates specially developed highly efficient and low noise compressors that deliver durable, stable cooling with low operating costs and security from liquid supply problems or eruptions.
Other features include rechargeable battery, three levels of cabinet security, advanced controls, LED digital display and flat key data entry for accurate temperature setting, confirmation and operation, high-efficiency oil separator for ULT operation, special foamed-in-place polyurethane insulation material for maximum cabinet protection, microprocessor-controlled filter-clogged check function, high temperature, power failure and lid opening alarms.
