Benchtop real-time PCR analysis with PHCbi MGD-RP001-PE

PHCbi has developed the MGD-RP1001-PE as an easy-to-use benchtop solution for real-time PCR analysis, providing reaction results in as little as 30 minutes.

This is a high quality but compact laboratory tool that features multi-wavelength analysis in up to four colours as an indispensable method for gene expression analysis and genetic testing.

Real-time PCR analysis

Real-time PCR, also known as quantitative PCR (qPCR), which amplifies and simultaneously quantifies a targeted DNA molecule, has become an industry standard method for gene expression analysis and genetic testing. The qPCR method offers high quantitation, reproducibility, and speedy results.

The PHCbi MGD-RP1001-PE is based on a heating and cooling system that uses a Peltier element with highly accurate temperature regulation in all 96 wells of the PCR sample plate. In addition, the imaging system avoids delay in measurement by detecting all 96 wells simultaneously. As a result, high uniformity and reproducibility are achieved between wells and between experiments.

MGD-RP1001-PE features

The PHCbi real-time PCR system provides four types of fluorescence filter (FAM, HEX, ROX, and Cy5) as standard, enabling real-time 2-step or 3-step PCR with SYBR® green detection or similar dyes and detection with various fluorescence-labelled probes. If ROX is not used for correction, it can also be effectively used as a detection wavelength. Thus, the system offers high flexibility between single color protocols or multiplexing methods.

qPCR made simple

The MGD-RP1001 is configured as a stand-alone device that can function independently of a PC using its intuitive 7-inch LCD touch screen control panel and embedded operating system. An included USB drive contains manuals and PHCbi real-time PCR Software package for PC. The licence-free software offers a user-friendly interface for easy set-up, seamless operation and analysis of experiments for both novice and experienced users alike, with functions that include:

• Experimental Setup: Choose between various analysis types such as absolute quantification, relative quantification, +/- decision, and SNP genotyping. The analysis type can be modified even after the run is completed.
• Sample Setting: List-managed sample information setting, for easy systematic plate setup, particularly useful for managing multiple specimens.
• Reaction Condition Setting: Set up experimental conditions using pull-down selection, with the option to recall settings from previous run files.
• Results/Analysis: The divided Result/Analysis screen enables simultaneous analysis of experiments from two different perspectives.
• Output Setting: Generate various RDML files with simple operations, enhancing flexibility in data output.
• Easy Operation Function: Create new experiments using previous settings as template directly from initial screen, allowing extraction of previous measurement conditions to reduce setup time and errors.
• Enhanced Reporting: The software supports various output formats such as CSV, Excel, Word, PDF, and PowerPoints.
