PHCbi Biomedical Upright Freezer – MDF-U731M-PE
The MDF-U731M-PE is the largest of PHCbi’s upright Biomedical Freezers that offer a highly stable refrigerated storage temperature range that can be set to between -20 and -30oC.
Like the previous version of the MDF-U731M, this -30ºC Biomedical upright freezer is specifically designed to offer a larger capacity cabinet with the uniformity, stability and reliability required in the life science market. This advanced biomedical freezer is already being used by a wide range of pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, research institutes, universities, hospitals and diagnostics laboratories.
Design and Features
The MDF-U731M-PE Upright Biomedical Freezer offers 690 liters of capacity with seven adjustable shelves providing a very wide range of storage options. It features a direct cooling system and manual defrost with a design that focused on laboratory needs for “Plug-in and Go” clinical grade freezing of enzymes, vaccines, and other biologics.
Other onboard features required for biomedical research and biotechnology applications include highly uniform temperature distribution throughout cabinet, precise microprocessor control, and storage flexibility to accommodate current and future storage needs of growing laboratories.
The MDF-U731M also features a digital display, comprehensive alarm system and door lock for secure storage of valuable samples. Its efficient cooling, durable construction and large capacity make it particularly suitable for use in busy laboratories. The MDF-U731M is an efficient and space-saving professional storage solution for a wide range of applications, including the storage of enzymes, culture media, reagents, and vaccines.
Uniform and stable temperatures
The MDF-U731M -30ºC Biomedical Upright Freezer features direct cooling with a full cold wall design. The evaporator pipes that remove heat from inside the unit are mounted in both sides, top, bottom and back walls of the cabinet to ensure uniform temperatures throughout. To optimize temperature uniformity even further, the pipes are strategically placed closer together towards the top of the freezer to produces a natural air convection effect inside the cabinet as colder air falls to the bottom, ensuring an even temperature distribution throughout the large chamber. The absence of ‘warm’ or ‘cold spots’, typically found in ‘domestic style’ freezers, ensures that all samples are stored at the desired temperature. Cold wall technology also ensures maximum sample protection by providing a rapid temperature recovery after door opening.
Manual defrost is often a better choice for applications in which very constant and stable temperatures are required; for example, in strict GMP applications or for the storage of temperature sensitive samples. Omitting an automatic defrost cycle on the MDF-U731M allows the inner chamber to offer outstanding temperature stability without any short-term temperature increases.
Compared to conventional biomedical freezers, the MDF-U731M Upright Freezer offers clear advantages in enhanced sample protection, lower running costs, faster temperature pull down, and longer service life.
