The paper is positioned within an industry context of increasing economic, social and stakeholder pressures for increased energy efficiency and minimised carbon footprint to address climate change, as well as geopolitical instabilities and mounting regulatory pressures.
Topics covered include:
• Environmentally focused actions to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, energy and water consumption and Energy Management
• Social standards and policies , including employment diversity and health and safety management
• Governance structures for sustainability
• Supply chain initiatives
• Increased contributions to sustainability that can be made by MEGGLE pharmaceutical excipients, especially in the areas of Direct Compaction and Dry Powder Inhalation applications
• The future of sustainable manufacturing
The paper shows how MEGGLE is responding to environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) challenges, through actions such as its phased energy/carbon/climate transformation concept, mitigation plans to prepare for demographic labor shortages and quantitative changes in dairy supply chains, and compliance with corporate social responsibility diligence (CSRD) reporting covering the entire production value chain.
