By MEGGLE Excipients
GranuLac® 200 now available in fiber drums
MEGGLE supplies its advanced lactose-based pharma excipients as total packages, in which the packaging is also a key element in protecting product quality, ensuring safety, and optimizing workflow.
The benefits of this approach are demonstrated in the recent provision of a new Fiber Drum packaging option for its popular GranuLac® 200 Mesh Lactose Monohydrate, alongside bags.
Fiber Drum Features
The Fiber Drum option opens up a series of practical benefits for pharma manufacturers, across the production chain, including enhanced protection in transportation, streamlined processing and improved hygiene standards.
The rigid but lightweight MEGGLE fiber drums are formed from laminated and coated fiberboard (Material Number: 13009811) with a capacity of 50kg. The drums incorporate a PE-Inliner for a minimum shelf life of 36 months and are sized to fit six on a pallet or 12 when double-stacked.
The plastic lid incorporates a levered clamping ring, allowing it to be re-sealed airtight.
The whole package is largely re-usable or re-cyclable, for significant sustainability benefits.
Fiber Drum Benefits
The robust drum format reduces risk of damage during shipment, offering superior protection against punctures and transport-related damage – ensuring product arrives in perfect condition, every time.
A second important advantage is easier opening and re-closing , minimizing contamination risks and saving valuable time in production processes.
A further benefit is compatibility with drum handling equipment such as lifts, reducing the need for scooping or other manual handling, for markedly improved hygiene and lower contamination risks.
Use of drums also enables bulk weighing for faster, more efficient dispensing – streamlining batch preparation and increasing throughput. With the right equipment, drum feeding can be directly integrated into the production process without extra handling – cutting process time and enhancing overall operational efficiency.
