Wasserburg, Germany: – MEGGLE will again participate in the Excipients Zone at CPHI Worldwide 2025 in Frankfurt, Europe’s leading exhibition for pharmaceutical ingredients. The company’s exhibit will emphasize technical innovation and product quality in lactose-based excipients.

MEGGLE is one of CPHI’s longest established exhibitors, with an association stretching back over three decades, almost to the founding CPHI Worldwide expo in 1991.

NextGen MicroceLac® Plus

Centerpieces, displayed on the MEGGLE stand at Booth 8.0P59 in Hall 8 of the Messe Frankfurt, will highlight latest additions to the company’s industry leading portfolio of closely tailored lactose-based excipients for the whole range of pharma applications from direct compression tableting to dry powder inhalation.

One of the new arrivals is the next generation tableting excipient MicroceLac® Plus, which was optimized for direct compression (DC) and continuous direct compression (CDC) manufacturing, especially when working with challenging APIs, high-dose formulations or mini tablets (minitabs) as oral solid dosage forms. The co-processed blend of alpha-lactose monohydrate and 65 % microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) delivers superior tabletability and ensures tablet hardness, which exceeds the properties of the individual components in the physical mixture.

Low nitrite lactose excipients

MEGGLE will additionally use CPHI 2025 as a showcase for its new premium low-nitrite lactose excipients for nitrosamine risk mitigation management to address pharma industry concerns over nitrosamine impurities.

These new Low Nitrite grades of GranuLac® 200 and 230, Tablettose® 100, and FlowLac® 100 have nitrite values below 0.10 ppm. Nitrite testing is no pharmacopoeial requirement. Nevertheless, MEGGLE has developed a superior measurement method using ion chromatography to accurately detect nitrite levels down to a quantification limit (LOQ) of 0.03 ppm. Through additional  validation, MEGGLE has demonstrated to be able to safely specify a limit of ≤ 0.10 ppm, as stipulated as a target in the USP Nitrosamine Exchange Forum. MEGGLE measures the nitrite content in each lot of the low nitrite grades and includes the measured nitrite value in the Certificate of Analysis (CoA).

Meeting industry needs

MEGGLE  will also highlight its highly sophisticated spray drying and other contract manufacturing offers that take advantage of Wasserburg’s advanced facilities. Stand design is also focused on hospitality, providing comfortable places to meet MEGGLE experts in Sales, Application Technology and R&D.

The MEGGLE exhibition team in Frankfurt will be again headed by Director Business Unit Excipients Ruth Leinenbach, who commented: “Once again, CPHI Worldwide provide us with one of our best opportunities of the year to connect with our customers, partners and the area sales managers of our various regions.”

“As a team we are highly focused on receiving customer feedback and addressing industry needs.  MicroceLac Plus and these new Low Nitrite grades show that philosophy in action,” added Ms. Leinenbach.
