MEGGLE showcasing latest DPI-focused InhaLac® 300 at PBP 2021

Wasserburg, Germany: Pharmaceutical lactose specialist MEGGLE Wasserburg GmbH (MEGGLE) will present InhaLac® 300 as the latest addition to its advanced range of pharmaceutical lactose excipients at the upcoming online 12th Pharmaceutics, Biopharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology conference, PBP World Meeting 2021.

MEGGLE has a long-standing relationship with the PBP series of biennial conferences, having regularly exhibited and posted at previous events held around Europe, most recently in Granada, Spain, in 2018.

With its own virtual booth, MEGGLE will be a prominent presence at the redesigned online event, that will go live over four days from May 11, replacing the Vienna meeting originally scheduled for 2020 and cancelled due to the COVID-19 emergency.

Members of MEGGLE’s R&D team will be available for online chats about the company’s excipients, with particular focus on InhaLac® 300, which has been developed as a fine-milled lactose excipient to support dry powder inhalation (DPI) formulations.

MEGGLE will contribute a specific online poster presenting features and potential applications for the new excipient InhaLac® 300 on the final day of the conference, Friday, May 14.

Bridging the DPI gap

The new excipient’s specific particle size distribution with 90% of particles between 40 and 56 µm (Malvern) and characterized by the typical flow- and surface-characteristic of milled lactose grades allows it to bridge the gap between medium sized carrier lactoses and fine milled grades for dry powder inhalation (DPI).

InhaLac® 300 thus provides an additional tool for formulators to tune and optimize the performance of their DPI products.

About PBP World Meeting 2021

The Pharmaceutics, Biopharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology (PBP) World Meeting has become a well-established pharma industry event, attracting scientists from all over the world. The event is biennial, with previous meetings held in Budapest, Paris, Berlin, Florence, Geneva, Barcelona, Malta, Istanbul, Lisbon, Glasgow, and Granada (2018).
