L.B. Bohle GMA Series High-Shear Granulators
The GMA Series High-shear Granulators from L.B. Bohle offer the pharmaceutical industry highly efficient solutions for the shaping of high-density granules.
Their distinctive design and engineering, using binding fluid added to the powdered raw material in a closed bowl with its agitator and chopping blades, guarantees effective dense granulation with thorough mixing and no excessive granule growth.
GMA High-Shear Granulator design
The GMA high-shear granulator system has been specially optimized for pharmaceutical applications with all machines designed for through-the-wall mounting with remotely located control panel options.
The machine is built around a cylindrical process bowl with double-dished heads. The shape of the tank in combination with the agitator blade geometry ensures effective granulation. The chopping blade action distributes the granulation fluid throughout the product and prevents excessive granule growth.
Electrically powered lifting cylinders allow the bowl to be easily lowered for loading or unloading, etc., and connect it to the head section, which also has a filler neck for gravity feeding. The process can be constantly inspected by camera mounted on the HMI.
The GMA granulation system works at up to 12 bars of pressure. The pressure-surge-resistant version features extremely strong tank lifting spindles that keep the tank sealed even in the event of an accident. The switch cabinet is located directly on the rear of the machine for safe and convenient batch operation.
