Jona, Switzerland: – Dry granulation expert Gerteis will use December’s P-MEC show in Mumbai to highlight the contribution its impressive roller compaction engineering can make to high containment.

P-MEC is part of the huge CPhI India event, split over two Mumbai venues. The Gerteis stand is at Booth N2 in Hall 5 of the Bombay Exhibition Centre.

    Upgraded interface

Gerteis will also display the upgraded Mini-Pactor with its new HMI Software package, latest PLC system and redesigned interface for better user experience and handling.

The Gerteis P-MEC team will also be able to provide customers visiting its stand with face-to-face scientific and technical process advice from senior company experts.

    HPAPI applications

“As the South Asian pharmaceutical market becomes more advanced and sophisticated, so there is increased emphasis on safe handling of high potency active pharmaceutical ingredients, HPAPIs,” noted Gerteis Hartmut vom Bey, Gerteis Vice-President for Sales & Technology.

“During the last decade, huge advances in Indian-based clinical pharmacology and oncology research and generics manufacturing have driven rapid growth in demand for HPAPIs and for more sophisticated granulation methods that protect operators and reduce exposure levels across the manufacturing facility,” said vom Bey.

    High Containment

“At P-MEC we will be able to show how our high containment roller compaction technologies form key parts of the solution, especially when teamed with our Ultra High Containment Options that can eliminate risk of contamination of manufacturing areas and exposure of personnel to toxic substances,” he explained.

“These same state of the art Gerteis technologies can also enable lower cost per tablet, with faster product transfer and more economical production,” vom Bey concluded.

    About Gerteis

Gerteis Maschinen + Processengineering AG is a Swiss-based company that has rapidly established itself as a world leader in the field of premium roller compactors. The company’s products and services cover all aspects of dry granulation processes, with unparalleled experience in this field built up since the company was founded in 1986.

Gerteis manufactures a wide range of high quality roller compactors that are versatile enough to process a vast range of powders, even notoriously problematic ones at both laboratory and production scales. The company’s patented technologies are widely used by the pharmaceutical, chemical and food industries.

Rapidly increasing demand recently forced the company to move from its original site in Jona on the shores of Lake Zurich to larger and purpose designed premises nearby, in a move completed at the end of 2013.

As well as manufacturing machinery, Gerteis offers complete solution packages that help customers increase productivity including support on identifying ideal formulations and in-house training courses on dry granulation processing. Gerteis constantly seeks to expand its knowledge on dry granulation, participating in numerous research collaborations with German universities.

    About P-MEC India 2016

Now in its seventh year, the P-MEC India machinery and equipment show brings the highly successful worldwide UBM-organized franchise to one of the world’s biggest single pharma markets, combining two events in one, with the event co-hosted alongside the huge CPhI India expo.

P-MEC India bills itself as ‘as providing unprecedented insight into the future of pharmaceutical equipment and machinery’, highlighting latest knowledge and trends in the market.

CPhI/P-MEC India 2016 will be a three-day event, opening November 21 in Mumbai. The show has grown to the point it now needs to be split over two venues with the landmark Bombay Convention & Exhibition Centre now being joined by the nearby MMRDA Grounds at BKC, Mumbai.

The combined 2016 shows are expected to attract close to 30,000 visitors and some 1,000 exhibitors from some 100 countries worldwide.

The event is organized by UBM Live. More information at: http://www.cphi.com/india/home/
