Gasporox presents new GPX1500 Film Pharma tester at PDA 2021
Lund, Sweden: – Non-destructive testing technology specialist Gasporox AB was a prominent presence at the recent 11th Parenteral Drug Association (PDA) Parenteral Packaging Conference held as an online even over two days in late April.
Gasporox used the virtual event as a global platform to launch its latest spot check instrument, the GPX1500 Film Pharma Instrument , based on its new approach to headspace analysis HSA testing.
Non-intrusive IV bag testing
The Gasporox GPX1500 Film Pharma Instrument represents a new approach to headspace oxygen gas analysis that enables fast, accurate, non-intrusive and non-destructive testing of IV bags, pouches and other pharmaceutical products. Results are presented immediately on HMI touch screens and data-logged. The instrument is designed to operate parameter free for reliable and accurate results in pharmaceutical laboratory and production testing.
The new GPX1500 Film Pharma is the latest addition to Gasporox’s expanding range of headspace gas analysis solutions, alongside the GPX1500 Vial instrument for testing injectable drug vials such as vaccine vials.
Poster presentation
Gasporox contributed a poster on ‘Non-Destructive / Non-Intrusive IV Bag Headspace Oxygen Measurement’ to the conference.
In parallel with the GPX1500 Film Pharma launch, its Senior Sales Manager and Application Specialist Roland Koch was an online presence at the PDA parenteral packaging conference, where he presented the results of the latest development Gasporox has brought to the industry, reviewing the applicability and reliability of GPX1500 technology as a non-destructive method for IV bags analysis.
“I was able to use this valuable event to show the considerable user advantages of this new instrument, in particular how its non-destructive measurement lets users return test samples to the production line with no waste. This technology supports oxygen degradation investigations as well as stability trends and end of shelf-lives studies,” said Mr. Koch.

The 11th PDA Parenteral Packaging Conference, themed ‘Parenteral Packaging in a New Era: Convergence of Patient, Process and Product Needs’ was hosted over two days from April 27, 2021, as a virtual event.
Topics on the agenda included developments in packaging materials such as glass and polymer, implementation of new guidelines, for example Annex 1 of the European GMP Guideline and USP 800, and the role of Container Closure Integrity (CCI) in product-package development, assembly and processing.
