Bachem webinar to explore complexities of peptide aggregation
Bubendorf, Switzerland: –Peptide technology specialist Bachem will host an online webinar in mid-June focusing on the challenges of peptide aggregation, required to produce stable drugs.
The webinar ‘Peptide Aggregation – A complex topic’ will examine this complicated and heterogenous process, which is triggered by the specific demands of individual peptides under specific or standard manufacturing conditions.
The webinar will explore the importance of evaluating and managing the peptide manufacturing process to produce physically stable drug substances, with Bachem experts sharing their analytical expertise on peptide aggregation and how to avoid the need for it by adopting optimized downstream process conditions.
Expert insights
The one-hour webinar discussion will be hosted on the Zoom platform, opening at 1700hrs CET (UTC +2) on June 14, 2023, which is equivalent to 0800 hrs. PST. Registration for the session is free of charge and can be competed online, also via the Zoom platform (see Resources).
The session will be moderated by Bachem AG Peptides Product Manager Dr. Elodie Decuypere and will feature contributions from Senior Quality Control Group Leader Dr. Patrik Plattner and QC Scientist Dr. Ho-Wah Siu.
Dr. Plattner’s work covers various analytical techniques with a focus on spectrometric and spectroscopic techniques for the investigation of the peptides regarding their chemical and physical stability. In addition, he and his team are responsible for method validation, implementation of the techniques in routine tests and support of control strategies at the frontier of peptide analysis.
Dr. Siu’s work in aggregation analytics at the Quality Control Department at Bachem Bubendorf focuses on method development in aggregation kinetics of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), using various spectroscopic and chromatographic techniques.
