Bachem webinar on sustainable procurement

Bubendorf, Switzerland: – The leading CDMO for peptides and oligonucleotides manufacturing, Bachem’s latest online webinar will focus on its initiatives directed at making its supply chain more sustainable and resilient.

The context for the webinar is increased industry focus on responsible and sustainable sourcing of goods and services, along with Bachem’s paramount concern for continuous improvement of its performance as outlined in its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) framework.

Responsible sourcing

The webinar will address detailed supplier sustainability assessments and responsible sourcing of ingredients, such as palm oil, as an integral part of Bachem’s sustainable procurement approach and its extended greenhouse gas emissions accounting.

The event will be hosted online via the Zoom platform on October 20, 2022, commencing at 1730 hrs. EDT (UTC +2) and lasting approximately one hour. Registration for the event is free of charge and can be completed online (see Resources).

Webinar hosts

Principle speaker for the session will be Santal Chamberlin, Bachem’s Supply Chain sustainability manager. In her role, Ms. Chamberlin implements and coordinates initiatives directed at making Bachem’s supply chain more sustainable and resilient.

She joined Bachem in 2021 with an MSc in Sustainable Development from the University of Basel and has experience in socially responsible sourcing of raw materials acquired in the consumer goods industry.

Moderator will be Dr. Franz Saladin, Bachem’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Compliance Manager, who is responsible for reporting the sustainability of the Bachem group worldwide. Besides this appointment, Franz runs his own consulting company, Saladin Public Affairs.  After earning a diploma in Chemistry at the University of Basel in 1992, Dr. Saladin studied the photochemical storage of concentrated solar energy at the Paul Scherrer Institute in Switzerland and as a postdoc at the Australian National University.
