SuperTrak CONVEYANCE™ HORIZON3™

SuperTrak CONVEYANCE™ has introduced HORIZON3™ as the latest ultra-compact member of its family of advanced technology magnetic conveyor systems that serve as foundation platforms for leaner, smarter, automated assembly solutions.

The HORIZON3™ design concept features reduced shuttle pitch, reduced complexity, and compact form while retaining the SuperTrak CONVEYANCE™ core advantages of speed, precision and independent shuttle control. This makes it ideal for lean and lightweight assembly and packaging systems.

HORIZON3 design and features

The SuperTrak HORIZON3™ system can carry up to 3kg per shuttle with 50mm shuttle-to-shuttle pitch. It is designed for ease of integration, use, and maintenance. Independent shuttle control combined with up to 40m/s² acceleration and +/-0.01mm repeatability allow machine builders to reduce the size of assembly and packaging machines.

This compact magnetic conveyor joins the other members of the SuperTrak family:

• SuperTrak HORIZON10™: a horizontally orientated base system for industrial and life science applications that can carry items weighing up to 10kg per shuttle.
• SuperTrak VERTICAL10™: A vertically oriented asynchronous system with 10kg capability for more compact installations in cleanroom environments, etc.
• SuperTrak PHARMA8™: An easy clean stainless-steel system handling shuttle loads up to 8.5kg enabling implementation of compact installations to support aseptic fill & finish, high potency material handling and other operations typically carried out under isolation and in Grade A aseptic environments.

HORIZON3™ inherits proven reliability from these established systems and shares their unique design, including limited moving parts, a mean time to repair shorter than 1 hour, and a shuttle that can be removed or replaced within 60s. In common with these other systems, it can be controlled using the SuperTrak Trakmaster™ software that enables independent programming and control of a wide variety of asynchronous motion operations, including integrated operations, function blocks, process simulations and diagnostic tools. In addition, the SuperTrak HORIZON3™ shuttles can also be controlled as technology objects in Siemens TIA Portal using Profinet IRT.
