SuperTrak PHARMA8™ Specifications

The detailed design features and technical specifications of SuperTrak PHARMA8™ support its use as a high-performance automated assembly and process solution for applications in Grade A Aseptic environments.

This asynchronous linear motion magnetic conveyor assembly platform is designed for sterile processes such as the manufacturing or packing of sterile products, aseptic fill and finish or rapid medical device prototyping and assembly.

SuperTrak PHARMA8™ design features

The SuperTrak PHARMA8™ form and construction meets FDA and EMA requirements, with stainless steel outer surfaces and hermetic seals demanded for Grade A spaces. Its design is focused on solving eternal pharma aseptic process and assembly problems:

​The SuperTrak PHARMA8™ conveyance platform addresses several critical challenges in aseptic assembly within pharmaceutical manufacturing:​

• Aseptic Format with easily cleanable surfaces, supporting rigorous cleaning protocols and vaporized hydrogen peroxide (VHP) decontamination, aligning with quality and regulatory requirements to maintaining stringent sterile conditions in pharmaceutical production.​
• Advanced Handling with shuttles carrying up to 8.5 kg loads, moving under independent control with rapid acceleration and to very precise repeatability standards to ensure accurate and efficient handling of heavy components in assembly processes. ​
• Compact Footprint: the space-saving design that allows shuttles to be preloaded and unloaded on the backside of track to reduce overall footprint by up to 50%, while end-over-end configurations can further minimize the size of isolators or restricted-access barrier systems. ​These are key considerations in maximizing productivity from premium cleanroom space.
• Flexible Design: The SuperTrak PHARMA8™ design is highly modular and expandable to provide the flexibility, adaptability, customization potential, and scalability needed to adapt or vary production to meet rapidly changing requirements. ​

SuperTrak PHARMA8™ capabilities

SuperTrak PHARMA8™ is a variant of the established SuperTrak CONVEYANCE™ magnetic shuttle assembly platform with its distinctive ‘racetrack’ design and independent asynchronous shuttle motion.

In common with the rest of the range, it shares the same SuperTrak CONVEYANCE™ core strengths and key advantages:

• Speed: Shuttles accelerate rapidly and move up to 2.5 meters per second. High speeds, rapid acceleration and lowered settling times work together to reduce cycle times and increase overall productivity. Products move in and out of tooling stations very rapidly, spending more time in process and less time in motion.
• Precision: Shuttles are moved to desired positions very precisely with +/- 0.01 mm repeatability. This high precision means that stopper cylinders, locate tooling, and other conventional add-ons may not be required; this results in decreased cycle times with fewer parts and less engineering. Ultimately CONVEYANCE™ automation is more productive and requires less space on the factory floor.
• Independent Asynchronous Control: The control software can Independently specify each shuttle’s velocity and acceleration, position, and destination, allowing for easier control of asynchronous motion.

As a further advantage the Supertrak PHARMA8™ conveyance platform provides minimal disruption of downward air flow and minimal disturbance of unidirectional laminar airflow within an isolator, helping to protect products from airborne contamination.
