System Design and Integration
The SuperTrak CONVEYANCE™ Smart Conveyance platform, based on independently programmable shuttle motion, can simplify the set up and system integration for an automated assembly solution.
This streamlined system design and integration can reduce both engineering complexity and risks and release further benefits, such as faster time to market, simplified tooling, reduced floorspace and overall reduction in resources required.
Superior foundation
Conveyance, the presentation of components to tooling stations at the fastest rate and in the right sequence, is the foundation of any assembly automation solution and shapes every aspect of system design. The simpler and more effective the conveyance method, the easier it becomes for engineers, system designers, integrators, and manufacturers to achieve high-performance assembly and maximise ROI return on investment.
The fundamental SuperTrak CONVEYANCE™ advantages of speed, precision and independent shuttle control combine to ‘turbocharge’ the whole assembly process with faster cycle times, elimination of add-on stoppers and locators, less need for specific adaptation, and easier control of asynchronous motion, enabling overall higher performance from a smaller footprint. The efficiency gains at each stage of the set up and integration process, including conceptualisation, design, system assembly, integration, and validation, can add up to an overall 40% reduction in the time needed to create a fully operational automated assembly solution.
Assisted Configuration
This speed is further accelerated by the SuperTrak CONVEYANCE™ TrakMaster software ability to create a virtual system in silico and run virtual simulations of the process in action. The software is sufficiently intuitive to use unaided with further assistance available from the SuperTrak CONVEYANCE™ applications engineering team if required.
Simulations created in TrakMaster™ will demonstrate precisely how an application will perform on the final system. This digital twin can evolve with the project and be loaded directly onto the SuperTrak CONVEYANCE™ platform at any stage.
Accurate motion simulations early in the design phase remove engineering complexity and allow system designers to optimize design and performance for a better ROI. They will also help optimize processes, evaluate performance requirements, and gauge energy consumption.
SuperTrak CONVEYANCE™ systems have built-in PLC programmable logic controller function blocks that provide intuitive interfaces for the key parameters such as shuttle motion, speed, pitch, access data, etc.
SuperTrak’s controller software can be configured with TrakMaster™ software or live via PLC. Setting motion configurations and targets using TrakMaster™ software synchronizes the release of shuttles with the PLC to enable faster implementation and easier diagnostics.
Smart Conveyance advantages
These features all contribute to reduced engineering and integration hours, which automation systems can enter production faster and start realizing ROI sooner.
Floorspace, cycle times, and built-in buffer zones are some of the features that make SuperTrak CONVEYANCE™ attractive to machine builders and automation integrators. With multiple SuperTrak CONVEYANCE™ configurations available, and simulations to support the design phase, machine builders can configure a system that works within their parameters without opting for a fully custom-built assembly solution.
