Sofrigam’s Brand New Innovation Shortlisted by the Grands Prix du Froid

Sofrigam, the European leader in refrigerant packaging has participated in the prestigious Grand Prix du Froid 2012. Competing in the ‘Best Packaging Innovation’ and Small Containers’ category, the awards recognise innovation within the refrigeration industry (manufacturers, fitters and users).

Sofrigam submitted innovation which involved 2 years of research by its R&D team was shortlisted from the 33 entries presented to the judging panel. The brand new concept consists of an innovation that closes off refrigerating packaging with a lock, speeding up packaging time and ensuring security in transit. This new closure system ensures packaging remains sealed and solves the many issues associated with cold chain transit, including security, productivity and temperature maintenance of sensitive products. The quick locking systems will optimise package fill while ensuring products are transported in total security.

About Grands Prix du Froid
Held annually, the Grands Prix du Froid rewards the talent businesses and encourages innovation. The networking event unites those most influential in the cold chain transit industry. This year the awards attracted 33 applications, 12 jurors professional 17 nominees, 1050 votes, 10 winners and 200 guests.

After weeks of voting online on the website of Cold Chain Forum six categories were awarded and three special prizes were presented.
