Nacka, Stockholm: – Pharmadule Morimatsu AB (Pharmadule), the Swedish-based specialist in modular facilities and process equipments, has seen its modular design and construction vision and methodology validated by key players in the pharmaceutical industry.

Pharmadule’s Director of Business Development Leo Fallgren commented: “We found more and more interest in modular designs and modular process equipment and facilities. This is a indication that Pharmadule has listened to its customers needs and is well positioned to serve them on a global basis.

Mr. Fallgren also said he had encountered similar interest in modular facility provision and modular construction during his recent travels across Europe, with a noticeable uptake in enquiries and approaches concerning Pharmadule’s modular services. Mr. Fallgren credits the increase in interest with Pharmadule’s modular design services due to the fact modular projects are handled quite differently from traditional plant construction projects and require a completely different approach in planning through to execution.

Pharmadule’s unique approach with a focus on engineering and fabrication means they are well positioned to cater for this shift to modular construction.

Long term savings

“This confirms a big trend for companies to go more modular with designs, process equipments and facilities,” said Pharmadule.

“The global pharma player sees the benefit in a faster and predictable modular approach,” the company said.

Pharmadule pointed out that while set up costs may be higher, the modular design and construction was much more cost effective over the overall duration of the project, with more than sufficient overall cost savings to outweigh increased initial investment.

Timeframes for modular projects tend to be much shorter than those of traditional engineering and construction projects. Also commissioning, qualification and validation are all part of the modular design process rather than separate stages as in a traditional project.

Due to the difference between modular and traditional construction projects it is imperative to work with a partner who understands and is experienced in the initial design and planning stage in modular construction. As a result Pharmadule is well positioned to help support partners with their modular construction and design enquiries.
