Phage Consultants showcasing research and production capabilities at VOM conference in Georgia

Gdansk, Poland: – Specialist bacteriophage CRO Phage Consultants (PC) is making its fourth appearance at the Viruses of Microbes (VOM) European conference, this time in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Once again, Phage Consultants will use the event to communicate its advanced bacteriophage expertise in contamination prevention in biological processes and to exchange knowledge with leading phage science practitioners.

About VOM 2023

The Viruses of Microbes (VOM) series of biannual conferences was launched in Paris in 2010 and since then has travelled all around Europe, reaching the Georgian capital Tbilisi in 2023.

VOM 2023 is a five day event opening July 3 at the city’s Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) founded in 1918 as the first national university in Georgia and the first higher education institution in the South Caucasus region.

The conference will serve as a platform for discussions on all aspects of studies on viruses of bacteria, archaea and unicellular eukaryotes, including new views on virus taxonomy, and ranging from the role and diversity of viruses in different ecosystems to development of virus-inspired new technologies.

A particular session will mark the centenary of the Eliava Institute of Bacteriophages founded by Felix d’Herelle and Giorgi Eliava in 1922 in Tbilisi, and will give an outline of current state and latest developments of application of bacteriophages in medicine, veterinary, food safely and biotechnology.
