Phage Consultants highlights phage and prophage testing capabilities at Microbiome Connect USA in Boston
Gdansk, Poland: – Specialist bacteriophage CRO Phage Consultants (PC) will debut at a further important North American microbiome community event in November.
PC’s first appearance the Microbiome Connect USA conference in Boston comes four months after it made a similar debut at July’s companion Microbiome Connect Europe conference in Amsterdam.
Event partner
Phage Consultant will be an Event Partner of the meeting and prominent exhibitor at the The Westin Boston Seaport conference center, highlighting its microbiome research relevant expertise in phage and prophage testing of microbiome strains and cell banks.
“We want to bring the message to the whole microbiome community that these testing services are both highly useful, readily accessible and well proven over many years on behalf of clients such as Acura, (formerly Luina Bio),” commented Phage Consultants CEO and co-founder Professor Marcin Los, who will head the PC presence at the conference.
Contract services
The company will also use the co-located Phage Futures event to showcase its exceptional capabilities in phage contract research and contract manufacturing.
“We will be showing that our phage and prophage laboratory testing services are relevant in multiple fields, including microbiome cell banks, phage research, and phage manufacturing,” said Dr. Los.
About Phage Consultants
Phage Consultants is a contract research and manufacturing organization that specializes in bacteriophage detection, characterization and production.
Bacteriophages (phages) are viruses that infect bacteria. First discovered around 1915, phages played an important role in understanding viral biology, for example in elucidating viral reproduction in lytic and lysogenic cycles. They have been used for almost a century as alternatives to antibiotics and can have therapeutic effect against multi-drug-resistant strains of many bacteria.
Founded in Gdansk, Poland, in 2007, PC has become a world leader in using the power of bacteriophage technology in bioprocess infection and contamination control and assisting companies whose production is based on microbial activities in preventing bacteriophage contamination, along with bacterial, fungal and viral contaminations.
Phage Consultants is also a team specialist in the field of bacteriophage biology with specific expertise in phage activity in bioprocesses. The team provides unique assistance to pharmaceutical and biotech companies, offering a range of services from personal training to consulting and process optimization in phage growth limitation. The company also advises and assists clients in the development of new production facilities.

About Microbiome Connect USA 2022
Entering its 7th year in 2022, the annual Microbiome Connect USA conference is dedicated to showcasing leading development platforms applying microbes, microbe modulators and microbial-derived components to prevent or treat human diseases or make medical diagnosis.
Microbiome Connect USA 2022 is a two-day event, opening November 16 at the Hotel Westin Boston Seaport District on the city’s waterfront.
The conference will explore opportunities created by the emergence of the first FDA-approved microbiome-targeted therapeutics for drug developers to benchmark their rational drug platforms, targeting validated pathways in gastrointestinal, neurological, metabolic disorders, as well as oncology-based indications.
It will also explore the manufacturing challenges associated with reaching commercialisation specific to microbiome-based drugs.
The event is organised by Kisaco Research with further information at: https://www.kisacoresearch.com/events/microbiome-connect-usa
