Research, Manufacture, Repeat – Phage Consultants Brings Its CRO Services to Viruses of Microbes 2026
Gdansk, Poland: – Bacteriophage specialists Phage Consultants (PC) will be a significant presence at the upcoming Viruses of Microbes (VoM) conference in the Czech capital Prague.
The VoM conference is a premier gathering for scientists, clinicians, industry leaders, and policymakers as one of the world’s leading events for research on viruses of microorganisms, including bacteriophages, archaeal viruses, and viruses of microbial eukaryotes.
Phage Consultants, led by its CEO Dr. Marcin Łoś, will be an exhibitor, with its own stand in the conference venue, the Hotel Hilton in central Prague.
A full range of phage CRO and manufacturing services
This will be PC’s sixth appearance at VOM, once again showing its wide range of relevant CRO and manufacturing services, including phage detection and decontamination tools.
Dr. Łoś commented: “We always look forward to returning to the VoM conference, which provides us with excellent opportunities to promote out bacteriophage expertise and to connect with eminent phage scientists and companies from around the world.”
“There is much to talk about, ranging from creation of phage and prophage test cell banks to virulent phage testing and use of phages to combat bacterial infections,” he added.
About Phage Consultants
Phage Consultants is a contract research and manufacturing organization that specializes in bacteriophage detection, characterization and production, but also prevention and eradication from laboratories and production facilities.
Bacteriophages (phages) are viruses that infect bacteria. First discovered around 1915, phages are the most numerous organisms in the biosphere and played an important role in understanding fundamental molecular biology for example horizontal gene transfer. Bacteriophages have different possible life cycles – lytic and lysogenic cycles – along with physical environment. In biotechnology, their activity can be devastating when bacterial cultures get infected. They can cause long-lasting recurrent infections which prevent successful production and in the past some facilities have been forced to close down due to their activities.
Founded in Gdansk, Poland, in 2007, PC has become a world leader in using the power of bacteriophage technology in bioprocess infection and contamination control and assisting companies whose production is based on microbial activities in preventing bacteriophage contamination.
Phage Consultants is also a team specialist in the field of bacteriophage biology with specific expertise in phage activity in bioprocesses. The team provides unique assistance to pharmaceutical and biotech companies, offering a range of services from personal training to consulting and process optimization in phage growth limitation. The company also advises and assists clients in the development of new production facilities.

About VoM Conference 2026
The Viruses of Microbes (VoM) conference is the world’s leading event for research on viruses of microorganisms, including bacteriophages, archaeal viruses, and viruses of microbial eukaryotes. Founded by the International Society for Viruses of Microbes (ISVM) in Paris in 2010, it has grown into a premier gathering for scientists, clinicians, industry leaders, and policymakers.
Following last year’s conference in Cairns, Australia, VoM returns to Europe, hosted in Prague, Czech Republic as a five-day event, opening July 6, 2026 at the Prague Hiton Hotel,
Under its theme of “Revealing Novel Interactions, Innovations, and Applications,” the 2026 conference will feature cutting edge topics like virus-host interactions, phage therapy, synthetic virology, bioinformatics, and environmental biotechnology. It is expected to attract up to 800 delegates with a co-located exhibition featuring leading companies and organisations.
The 2026 VoM conference is organised by The Czech Biotech Association (CzechBio) under the stewardship of the International Society for Viruses of Microbes (ISVM) and the patronage of the Czech Republic President, Petr Pavel. Sponsors include the EU and Poland’s Pomerania Development Agency.
