Phage Consultants’ debut at Boston Global Microbiome Congress
Gdansk, Poland: – Specialist bacteriophage CRO Phage Consultants (PC) will make its debut at the Global Microbiome Congress in Boston to present its range of contamination detection and prevention services.
A centerpiece of the PC stand displays at Booth 19 in the Exhibition Zone will be the newly introduced service for testing bacterial cell banks composed of anaerobic bacteria intended for pharmaceutical production as microbiome pharmaceuticals. This will identify any bacteriophages and prophages present in the strain that could prevent lysing of the whole batch.
Biotech and Pharma decontamination
Additionally, the Phage Consultants stand will present its various other tools and services for the prevention and removal of phage infections in biotechnological and biopharmaceutical processes. The displays will also highlight applications of its advanced bacteriophage-based tools, such as swab samples and prophage testing, to identify contaminations in biotech facilities and enable preventative troubleshooting.
Leading the Phage team at the GMC event will be the company’s CEO and co-founder, Dr. Marcin Łoś, an internationally acknowledged authority on bacteriophage types, contamination prevention and troubleshooting activity.
Bacteriophage expertise
Dr. Łoś commented: “This will be our first appearance at this important meeting that focuses on the human microbiome and its transformative impact on health, disease, and therapeutics. Phages play an enormously important role in that biome, and our areas of expertise are very relevant here.”
“This is the ideal opportunity to show how our specialized knowledge of bacteriophage characteristics and mechanisms can benefit the researchers, clinicians, entrepreneurs, biotech and pharma companies, investors, and government organizations assembled in Boston.”
About Phage Consultants
Phage Consultants is a contract research and manufacturing organization that specializes in bacteriophage detection, characterization and production, but also prevention and eradication from laboratories and production facilities.
Bacteriophages (phages) are viruses that infect bacteria. First discovered around 1915, phages are the most numerous organisms in the biosphere and played an important role in understanding fundamental molecular biology for example horizontal gene transfer. Bacteriophages have different possible life cycles – lytic and lysogenic cycles – along with physical environment. In biotechnology, their activity can be devastating when bacterial cultures get infected. They can cause long-lasting recurrent infections which prevent successful production and in the past some facilities have been forced to close down due to their activities.
Founded in Gdansk, Poland, in 2007, PC has become a world leader in using the power of bacteriophage technology in bioprocess infection and contamination control and assisting companies whose production is based on microbial activities in preventing bacteriophage contamination.
Phage Consultants is also a team specialist in the field of bacteriophage biology with specific expertise in phage activity in bioprocesses. The team provides unique assistance to pharmaceutical and biotech companies, offering a range of services from personal training to consulting and process optimization in phage growth limitation. The company also advises and assists clients in the development of new production facilities.

About Global Microbiome Congress 2026
First hosted in 2025, the Global Microbiome Congress has already established a place as a leading event for study and knowledge sharing on the human microbiome. It brings together more than 300 representatives of the research community, clinicians, entrepreneurs, biotech and pharma companies, investors, and government organizations covering the entire human microbiome ecosystem.
The 2nd Congress (GMC 2026), will provide an interdisciplinary forum for scientists, healthcare practitioners, and educators to present and discuss the latest breakthroughs, emerging trends, practical challenges, and innovative solutions in the field of microbiome research and therapeutics.
GMC 2026 is a two-day online event opening June 15 and will feature some 60 speakers from various disciplines.
The event is organized by Sciinov, with further details at: https://microbiomecongress.org/
