New Gasporox BottleArch™ allows non-intrusive testing for large volume parenterals

    February 4th 2025

Gasporox AB has introduced a new version of its award-winning VialArch™ in-line sensor module that is optimized for checking headspace gases on large volume parenteral (LVP) bottles.

The new Gasporox BottleArch™ allows non-intrusive and non-destructive headspace gas analysis on bottles at production line speeds at up to 600 units per minute. This Headspace Analyzer HAS can be applied for quality inspection on aspects such as CCIT Container Closure Integrity Testing or process monitoring, residual oxygen analysis.

    Tunable technology

BottleArch™ has a larger form factor than VialArch™ that allows it to test a variety of LVP containers forms, such as bottles. It is based on the same proprietary technology of Tunable Diode Laser Absorption Spectroscopy (TDLAS), that can measure gas concentrations, residual moisture levesl or gas pressures, because every molecule (including water) absorbs light in a unique way at certain wavelengths when in a gaseous state.

For this initial version of BottleArch™, the laser is used to detect residual oxygen densities, for CCIT leakage inspection, or for process monitoring.

    Non-destructive quality testing

This non-destructive deterministic testing technology has the unique advantage that it can detect container or product integrity flaws without compromising the packaging. This sensor is easy to integrate and provides an in-line solution that allows for fast paced and accurate testing non-destructively.

The BottleArch™ is also designed to cope with high bottle fill levels right up to the top of the neck, leaving very limited headspace.

    BottleArch benefits

Thus Gasporox BottleArch™ offers a revolutionary and superior solution to the inline quality control of LVP containers that offers a series of benefits:

    • Easy and high-speed CCIT inspection via residual oxygen measurement
    • Non-intrusive and non-destructive
    • High O2 accuracy
    • Robust module design and form
    • No external triggering needed
    • No nitrogen purging needed
    • Easy integration into production line with compact form and small footprint
