MagGran® Granulates
Introduction
MagGran® is Magnesia’s brand for granulated magnesium and calcium compounds that are compacted mineral salt agglomerates. These are produced either by dry compression or by enrichment with additives such as maize starch, maltodextrin or PVP.
MagGran®granulates are selected and specified for consistent high quality and optimum processability.
Benefits
All MagGran® granulates comply with the international pharmacopoeias and are formulated for purity and flow qualities.
This delivers obvious overall advantages in saved time and lower manufacturing costs due to optimised production flow and increased processing speed.
In addition, MagGran granulates deliver a series of technical advantages:
Structure of Granulates
- Constant apportioning for high speed tablet machines
- Excellent free flowing properties for optimal apportioning
- Granular structure that enables nearly dust-free production
- Optimised compressibility
Characteristics
- Good binding strength for stable tablets
- High crushi strength for tablets
- Low friability in tablets
- Improved decay time for optimum dissolving capacities
MagGran® raw material without additives
- Easy use in standard formulations
- No limits in the development of new formulations
- Less foam formation in effervescent tablets
MagGran®plus raw material with additives
- Product improvement depending on the production process
- Compact and stable raw material without further add of additives
- Additives to improve stability are e.g. maize starch, maltodextrin, PVP, sorbitol or acacia (gum arabicum)
