Magnesia Potassium, Iron and Zinc-derived mineral compounds
Introduction
Magnesia has a portfolio of Potassium, Iron and Zinc-derived mineral compounds, mainly used for pharmaceutical and dietary supplements. As well as ‘traditional’ inorganic mineral compounds, Magnesia also provides organic Potassium, Iron and Zinc mineral salts that exhibit high bio- availability for pharmaceutical and dietary supplements.
Metabolic functions
Each of the three elements plays a well-identified and valuable part in the pharmacopeia.
Potassium functions
Potassium(K) contributes to normal functioning of the nervous system, to good muscle function and to the maintenance of normal blood pressure.
Ferrous functions
Iron(Fe) contributes to proper cognitive function, to a strong andenergy-yielding metabolism, to formation of red blood cells and haemoglobin, to oxygen transport in the body, to a vigorous immune system, to the reduction of fatigue and also has a role in the process of cell division.
Zinc functions
Zinc(Zn) plays mportant roles in the human metabollsm of acids, carbohydrates, macronutrients, fatty acids and vitamin A. It is also known to be important for to healthy cognitive function, DNA and protein synthesis, fertility and reproduction. Zinc is also essental to maintenance of normal bones, hair, nails and skin as well as maintaining normal testosterone levels in the blood, clear vision, functional immune system and to protecting cells from oxidative stress. Like Iron, Zinc also has a role in the process of cell division.
Portfolio
Magnesia can supply a wide range of high quality and high purity compounds and mineral salts dertived from Potassium, Iron and Zinc, with corresponding chelates and amino acid complexes.
