KORSCH bringing to PMEC India tabletting solutions from R&D to high-speed production
Berlin, Germany: – Leading name in tablet compression technology KORSCH AG will exhibit some of its latest technologies on its return to CPHI India’s annual PMEC pharma machinery exhibition outside New Delhi.
KORSCH will again combine with subsidiary MEDELPHARM and strategic partner L.B. Bohle under their ‘Your Process in Mind’ banner on stand 10A31 at the India Expo Centre, at Greater Noida to provide an extensive display covering every aspect of oral solid dose manufacture from research and formulation, through powder processing, to tablet compression and coating.
High-speed tabletting leader
KORSCH solutions on display will again feature the advanced XT 600 High-Speed Double-Rotary Press as its centerpiece. This machine already provided a proven and reliable world benchmark for high-volume tablet production, offering a 100 kN pre and main compression capability, 100 RPM press speed capability, and a maximum output of over 1,000,000 single-layer tablets per hour.
The XT 600 can also be specified with an optional segmented die table now offering 85 EU or TSM B punch stations that can increase production output by more than 30%. This is principally by eliminating the need to install and remove conventional dies, dramatically reducing setup and changeover times.
Bi-layer capability
The streamlined turret exchange system and optional bi-layer conversion kit give the XT 600 the flexibility to produce both single and bi-layer tablets. The conversion kit can be adapted to the machine at any time, which includes the components to ensure individual layer weight control, first-layer sampling, and absolute separation of layers. A simple and intuitive touch-screen interface support maximum flexibility and peak operating efficiency.
The XT 600 on display at P-MEC India incorporated several significant technological improvements that make it even better suited to bi-layer tablet production with its sophisticated exchangeable segmented turret, and innovative variable feeder design. The updated XT600 also features rugged compression columns, and an innovative carrier plate design that minimizes noise and vibration.
Serving a pharma powerbase
Other live demonstrations on the stand will feature MEDELPHARM’s versatile STYL’One Evo compaction simulator with integrated analytical software and multi-layer capability, allowing streamlined R&D and scale-up to production speeds.
The KORSCH team at PMEC India 2024 will include KORSCH India Executive Director Sameer Rane and the Regional Manager Pavan Porethi, and Service Division Head Pravin Gawas.
Pavan Porethi commented: “We are delighted to extend further our association with PMEC and CPHI India that goes back many years, initially exhibiting alone and more recently in collaboration with LB BOHLE and now with MEDELPHARM as well.”
“India has become a global powerhouse for OSD production and together, we can offer really powerful and comprehensive manufacturing process solutions to this very important pharma market, not least the extended XT600 capabilities for bilayer production” Mr. Porethi added.
