Eurotherm® Data Visualization Solutions

Neuroscientific studies have shown that humans tend to transmit and receive information almost twice as much in visual form as in writing and that they can follow visual directions more than three times more easily. These basic advantages make data visualization an essential tool in managing complex industrial processes.

Effective data visualization speeds decision-making and reduces the time needed to fine-tune processes.

Process visualization can provide an end-to-end overview of a process flow including all the steps taken, sub-processes, activities, data inputs and outputs, and risk objects, helping engineers plan new processes, ensure compliance with ideal models or troubleshoot new installations.

The Eurotherm® range of advanced technology process controllers boosts the extensive portfolio of Watlow® industrial heating and process solutions by providing some very advanced data visualization capabilities. These use leading-edge data handling and connectivity to meet the specialized needs of diverse life science applications such as pharmaceutical and chemical reactors, multi-zone heat treatment, injection molding and extrusion systems, batch control systems, environmental management and monitoring systems.

Eurotherm® Eycon 10/20 Visual Supervisor

The Eycon 10/20 combines multi-function control, data recording and visualization in a single slim panel mount Process Management Unit that can be used for continuous and sequential control.

Eycon Visual Supervisor technology incorporates extensive functionality to provide complete management of a process. The advanced array of features includes color touchscreen display, user definable function keys, multi-setpoint programmer, batch control, recipe management, audit trails, 46MB internal data archive, secure logging, alarm/event Management, and USB Support. These effectively transform the Eycon visual supervisor into a mini DCS – with the efficiency and economy of integration into a single unit and the flexibility to be a powerful component of a wider system.

Eycon Visual Supervisor instruments are designed to reduce configuration, integration, installation and wiring costs while improving efficiency and quality with their accurate control. The unit is easily integrated as part of a wider control network, with peer-to-peer communications by Modbus Master/Slave (Serial or TCP) protocols or by 10/100Mbps Ethernet (ELIN).

Eurotherm® E+PLC400 Combination PLC

E+PLC400 is a modular Programmable Logic Controller designed to meet the stringent regulatory requirements of thermal and other advanced manufacturing industries by providing advanced control, data management and visualization in a single modular platform. Ethernet connectivity provides compatibility with IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) and Industry 4.0 technologies, enabling the E+PLC400 to function as a web server allowing a very wide array of visualization possibilities, including mobile devices and local displays.

Utilizing the open industry standard IEC61131-3 CODESYS® platform, E+PLC enables simplified engineering through a single integrated programming and visualization environment, including advanced function block libraries for specific applications, control and data recording, OEM security and customization.

Eurotherm® 6000XIO Distributed Graphic Recorders

The 6000XIO series of instruments are ideal for remote monitoring applications, such as water flows, power generation and distribution and FDA 21 CFR Part 11 or AMS2750/Nadcap applications. In either 12.1″ XGA or 5.5″ ¼VGA display formats, their intuitive 16-bit color touch screen displays let operators clearly view process data in varying formats. All have custom graphic display options, and Modbus Master Batch functionality, with up to 32 Modbus slaves and 176 comms channels.

Data is stored in a tamper-resistant binary format that can be used for secure, long term process records with audit trail, individual user accounts and password protection.

The 6000XIO is designed for a networked world in which data can be accessed via a Local Area Network, dial-up connection, intranet or Internet. All 6000XIOs have Ethernet communications to provide secure, infinite archiving capacity and can be configured to archive data stored within internal memory to removable media on demand or at preset intervals.

Eurotherm® 6100A / 6180A Paperless Graphic Recorders

Eurotherm 6100A and 6180A Series Data Recorders have been specifically designed to meet industry requirements for batch functionality and audit trail for FDA 21CFR Part 11 or Nadcap applications, with recorded login, use of unique usernames and passwords, and secure data integrity of process records, including pharmaceutical applications.

These instruments feature full color, high resolution, touch screen displays with remote viewing and configuration options that allow operators to clearly view process data in varying formats. The 6000 Series HMI is easy to use with intuitive drop-down menus and consistent navigation. The 12.1″ XGA touchscreen display also incorporates a ‘Pop Up’ full ‘QWERTY’ keyboard to facilitate easy data or message entry. Operators can create their own customized buttons anywhere on the display.

All have onboard Flash data storage capability, Ethernet communication and a choice of Compact Flash or SD Card. Data is stored in a tamper-resistant binary format that can be used for secure, long-term process records. Flexibility is further enhanced with fully featured software options and flexible I/O, which can be added to at any time.

Eurotherm® Data Reviewer

All these solutions are designed to work with the Eurotherm Data Reviewer software application. This adds extensive data visualization and analysis capabilities across the wide range of Eurotherm data acquisition equipment, including 6000 series paperless graphical recorders, hybrid recorders/controllers such as the nanodac™, and programmable Automation Controllers, like the T2750 PAC.

Data Reviewer is designed for the viewing, analysis and printing of historical data files obtained from wherever and whenever needed. With the Auditor option, a full audit trail is provided for annotations and excursion information, with user authentication and electronic signatures to facilitate accountability, integrity, and confidentiality of the source data.

However, Data Reviewer is not only a tool for collating process data to demonstrate compliance for regulatory purposes, but opens up in-depth insights into production processes, visually highlighting areas where improvements may be made.
