Erdmann Design supports Medtech Innovation event

Brugg, Switzerland:- Award-winning design and engineering agency Erdmann Design will be a prominent presence at the upcoming Swiss MedTech Centre (SMTC) Medtech Innovation event as a sponsor and leading thought contributor.

Erdmann Design will use the September 7 event’s networking opportunities and exhibition zone to demonstrate how its own design and development inputs can help bring products to market faster and with greater chances of commercial success.

Human-centered design

Erdmann Design has a well-established relationship with SMTC, having supported the founding of the organization some 15 years ago. Erdmann shares SMTC’s goals of encouraging innovative design in the life sciences arena, along with new thinking about the interfaces between humans, technology and environments.

Erdmann has applied its Human-centered Design (HCD) skills on behalf of several innovative startups whose products were curated through SMTC support and has an ongoing commitment to encourage the development of enterprises supported by the SIPBB Switzerland Innovation Park at Biel/Bienne.

Early prototyping

Erdmann Design will contribute a keynote presentation on the contribution that effective design can make to more rapid and effective product development and marketing.

“One of the key messages we will be promoting to decision makers at Medtech Innovation will be the vital importance of user-centered early prototyping of innovative products,” commented Erdmann Design founder and CEO, Raimund Erdmann.

It is hoped that many of the start-ups participating in Medtech Innovation 2020 will also have attended Erdmann Design’s own Reflexion workshop on HCD concepts and case-studies one month beforehand at its Design Laboratory in Brugg (see Resources).

About Swiss Medtech Innovation 2020

The Swiss MedTech Center (SMTC) is part of the cluster of enterprises forming the Switzerland Innovation Park at Biel/Bienne (SIPBB), near Basel.

SMTC’s mission is to promote interdisciplinary research in medical and health technology. Its Innovation Lab forms a showcase for inspiring examples and demonstrations of applied research and technology.

The annual SMTC Medtech Innovation workshop is a specialized networking forum for startups, small and medium sized enterprises, service providers, investors and global players from the medtech sector.

Medtech Innovation 2020 is a one-day event on September 7, 2020, that will form a ‘matchmaking’ event and a forum for new enterprises to present innovative solutions to potential sponsors and investors, along with a one-to-one partnering service to seed potential collaborations.

The 2020 event will include presentations on sustainable innovation and the experiences of a start-up entrepreneur. The workshop will also feature an accompanying table top exhibition zone.
