Erdmann Design hosts Reflexion workshop on Human-centered Design
Brugg, Switzerland:- Award-winning design and engineering agency Erdmann Design will co-host a Reflexion workshop on Human-Centered Design (HCD) aimed at medical and pharma professionals.
The two-hour workshop, organized in collaboration with NeoRescue®, will be staged in Erdmann’s HCD laboratory in Brugg on the afternoon of August 7, 2020, followed by a networking session.
The sessions will focus on HCD theory and methodology and how they can be applied to the life sciences.
Lifebox case study
As a case study, the Reflexion will focus on the fast-track development of NeoRescue’s unique Lifebox infant rescue container that applied Erdmann’s HCD methods and expertise along with support from the Aargau High Tech Center.
Lifebox was inspired by a serious fire in 2015 in a neonatal unit of Aarau Cantonal Hospital in which dozens of babies were placed in peril. The incident highlighted lack of a purpose-designed solution for safely carrying infants out of heat and fume-filled environments. Lifebox is now poised to go into full production with several fire departments and hospitals among prospective customers.
HCD network
This Reflexion workshop is the latest in an ‘Open House’ series hosted over the years by Erdmann, which regularly invites clients and design-focused students and developers to its Human Centered Design Lab in Brugg, to share insights, latest achievements and build a HCD Network community.
Leaders of the Lifebox project will discuss and show their learnings during the workshop, which will also provide an opportunity to meet leading members of the Erdmann Design team.
Participation in the workshop is free of charge with registration online (see Resources).
