Vienna, Austria: – Bioprocessing solutions expert enGenes Biotech will share insights into its advanced vaccine development capabilities at the upcoming 2025 World Vaccine Congress in Amsterdam.

The WVC franchise, with annual congresses in Europe and the USA, has become a leading global knowledge-sharing platform for the whole vaccine R&D and manufacturing value chain. enGenes will be an active participant in the many networking events in Amsterdam, detailing the various ways in which it can speed vaccine development.  These include support for development of recombinant protein and plasmid DNA bioprocesses and advanced affinity ligand activities.

Driving vaccine development

enGenes Business Development Manager Dr. Ophelia Gevaert will lead the company’s presence in Amsterdam and welcomes pre-event connections to make appointments for face-to-face meetings (see Resources).

Dr. Gevaert commented: “This important congress provides us with a ‘must attend’ opportunity to exchange ideas and foster collaborations that will drive forward the development of new and effective vaccines.”

“We can highlight so many ways in which we can help vaccine developers accelerate from concept to clinic with high-performance bioprocessing built around our proprietary E. coli platforms, such as -eXpress™, -eXcess™, and -eXchange™ that can deliver scalable recombinant production of difficult targets and vaccine antigens. Our antibiotic-free, growth-decoupled processes boost yields and simplify downstream operations,” Dr. Gevaert noted.

Streamlined purification

“We can also provide end-to-end plasmid DNA services, including antibiotic-resistance-marker-free and minicircle options, to support gene-based vaccines and upstream supply for AAV manufacturing.

”Beyond production, we are building a portfolio of capture tools and enzymes to streamline purification, offering high-performance affinity ligands—including protein A solutions—and introducing an endonuclease line to improve pDNA and protein workflows. For next-generation vaccine modalities and conjugate designs, our -eXpand platform enables site-specific incorporation of non-canonical amino acids for precise recombinant protein engineering and click-ready handles,” she added.

“All in all, there is a lot to talk about in Amsterdam,” Ophelia Gevaert concluded.
