DORNIER-LTF robots find new food applications with BIOTECON

Lindau, Germany: – Laboratory robotics specialist DORNIER–LTF today announced that its recent world OEM sales partnership with Potsdam-based BIOTECON has produced a new generation of automated PCR-Setup robots. The collaboration is extending use of DORNIER-LTF liquid handling robots beyond pharmaceutical laboratories into the Food and Feed Sectors and for environmental analysis.

BIOTECON Diagnostics is now ready to distribute worldwide its own automation solution based on DORNIER-LTF’s liquid handling and personal pipetting technologies, specialized for the food and feed industry and the environmental sector.

Real time PCR solutions

The first fruit of the collaboration are the Roboset+ and extended Roboset+HE liquid handling robots, marketed under BIOTECON’s foodproof® brand of solutions for innovative, rapid detection of pathogens, spoilage organisms, genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and allergens through real-time PCR.

The Roboset+ is powered by the DORNIER-LTF automation engine, combined with BIOTECON Diagnostics’ foodproof® real-time PCR based detection kits.

Automated food diagnostics
