Lindau, Germany: – Laboratory engineering specialist DORNIER LabTech Systems will make is debut appearance at the European qPCR & Digital PCR Congress in London next month, exhibiting applications of its PIRO® personal pipetting robot that are optimised for real-time or quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR).

The DORNIER LabTech Systems stand, in association with UK PIRO distributor, East Sussex-based QCL Scientific, at the congress exhibition area at the Novotel London West will display the PIRO® Liquid Handling Robot with its powerful software for qPCR and all molecular biology related labs.

MALDI-TOF and HPLC

A team headed by DORNIER LabTech Systems Product Specialist Florian Glaser will also demonstrate PIRO® applications to MALDI-TOF, HPLC and other life science laboratory tasks, including live simulations.

DORNIER LabTech Systems will also offer free use of a PIRO® console for projects that lead to an order within three months of the close of Congress.

“We are looking forward to making our first appearance at this event, having made a very successful showing at its sister event in the USA,” commented Florian Glaser.

Fully traceable PCR

“We will be bringing a series of powerful offers to London that will be compelling for potential end users and laboratory heads looking for a fully traceable pipetting solution with precise and reproducible automation of their pipetting steps,” said Mr. Glaser.

“We’ll be able to show how PIRO®´s supervision of all pipetting steps and pipetted volumes provides perfect traceability for all PCR fields in research and diagnostic applications, providing a perfect solution for any lab needing easy import or export possibilities for their pipetting results from or to LIMS systems or other instruments,” he added.

About DORNIER LabTech Systems

DORNIER LabTech Systems GmbH is a wholly owned subsidiary of the German manufacturer DORNIER with decades of experience in aerospace and building robotics equipment. As a pipetting specialist, it develops, produces and markets ‘Made in Germany‘ premium-quality, flexible and easy to use benchtop liquid and sample handling systems. DORNIER’s heritage as a respected aircraft builder is reflected in high quality, precision and reliability. Service and customer focus are key cornerstones of the DORNIER LabTech Systems company philosophy.

The company specializes in creating reliable and easy to use high precision liquid handling devices that aid laboratory automation. DORNIER LabTech Systems has developed affordable high precision automated liquid handling robotic technologies, in particular the newly developed PIRO® pipetting small robot that integrates high throughput benefits within a compact and easy to handle device.

The PIRO® has been designed for the needs of qPCR laboratories allowing versatility, precision, reproducibility, and safety combined with powerful pipetting middleware and intuitive drag and drop software for easy use and setup of reactions. Even though the PIRO® has a small bench top footprint, it allows for 16 positions to be used. Setting up 384-well plates without running out of tips, pipetting primary tubes, using the newly developed software features, easy recalibration and interchangeable pipetting heads are just a few features integrated in the PIRO®.

With the development of the PIRO®, DORNIER LabTech Systems provides an automated pipetting system with a reliable hardware and newly developed software solution to facilitate the needs of any laboratory.

About qPCR & Digital PCR Congress 2017

From its inception in 2012, the annual European qPCR conference has reflected growing application of real time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) and digital PCR (dPCR) techniques.

The 5th qPCR and Digital PCR Congress is one of four strands comprising the 4BIO Summit, a two-day event opening December 4 at the Novotel London West hotel. Other 4BIO strands are the 3rd Microfluidics Congress, the 4th Global Synthetic Biology & Gene Editing Congress and the newly introduced NGS Tech & Applications Congress on next generation sequencing.

The 2017 qPCR & Digital PCR Congress will focus on ‘Developing And Applying qPCR & dPCR Technologies and Methods for Applications in Healthcare’ and will examine the latest developments, opportunities and applications of both technologies across diverse areas such as oncology, infectious diseases, vaccines, prenatal diagnostics, clinical applications, microbiology, and other novel applications.
