Dec Group brings SafeDock® automated drum docking to Solids Dortmund 2022

Ecublens, Switzerland: – Materials handling and process specialist Dec Group will show its latest SafeDock® drum docking solution at the Solids Dortmund trade show in Germany’s Rhine-Ruhr region.

Dec Group will exhibit under the Dec Deutschland banner from Booth B20 in Hall 4 of the Dortmund Messe showground, displaying its extensive portfolio of powder handling and process containment solutions.

Pride of place on stand will go to Dec’s patented SafeDock® system that now offers fully automated drum docking for reduced workload and enhanced process reliability.

Enhanced solution

SafeDock® was first introduced as a modular component for emptying and filling big bags, with complete success in speeding up the entire docking process while ensuring maximum safety for personnel handling hazardous solids.

The system has now been enhanced to work in combination with the proven DCS® Drum Containment System, Isotube glove box and process isolators for handling drums. The DCS® solution will be displayed and demonstrated in Dortmund.

World first

In combination with the Isotube glove box and isolators, docking drums by means of a drum tipper becomes very fast, easy and reliable due to the high degree of automation.

SafeDock® is the first system to fully automate this process and can be used for highly potent active ingredients (HPAPIs) requiring containment values of less than 1 µg/m³. Operators can thus benefit from the high level of user-friendliness of the system even under higher containment.

Dec offers drum and big bag discharging solutions for different requirements, from low to very high containment requirements. The most suitable solution depends on various factors, including product characteristics and local conditions, and they have to be carefully evaluated for each project.

Founded in 2013, Solids (Schüttgut) Dortmund is one of the Solids European Series (SES) trade fairs that also take place in Zurich, Basel, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Krakow and St. Petersburg.  These events focus on solutions for conveying, dosing, storage, characterisation, processing, extraction, conditioning, transportation and handling of mineral and organic solids.
