Dec Group Brings Rheofreed®, DecFill® XP and a New Single-Use Bioreactor to CPHI Milan 2026

Ecublens, Switzerland: Save the date and join Dec Group at CPHI Worldwide 2026, taking place from October 6 to 8 in Milan, Italy. The Swiss-based process solutions specialist returns as an established exhibitor at Booth 9D66, bringing three headline technologies to the stand – the Rheofreed® lyophilizer, the DecFill® XP aseptic filling platform, and a new single-use bioreactor with integrated dispensing system. Dec’s Powder Transfer System (PTS) will also be live and in action throughout the show.

Rheofreed® – Rewriting the Rules of Lyophilization

Rheofreed® is a next-generation, mixer-type freeze dryer built to overcome the limitations of conventional shelf-type systems. By combining an ultrasonic freezing nozzle with controlled mixing inside a conical vessel, it turns liquid material into frozen powder via spray freezing, then dries and discharges it in one continuous cycle, with no trays to load or clean.

The results speak for themselves: in trials on linear peptides, process time fell from 96 hours to 19 hours, an 80% reduction, while cyclic peptides dropped from 213 hours to 56 hours, a 74% reduction. Residual solvent levels were cut just as sharply, with acetonitrile levels falling from 1500 ppm to just 162 ppm, all while HPLC analysis confirmed the peptide’s molecular structure remained fully intact. Scalable from 0.1 to 100 litres, Rheofreed® is GMP-compliant and ready to move straight from lab-scale trials into full pharmaceutical production.

DecFill® XP: Compact, Levitating, Aseptic

DecFill® XP redefines fill-finish operations with a breakthrough levitating transport system that removes the need for traditional mechanical handling altogether. Pre-sterilized, validated vials glide through the line on levitating transport pucks, collapsing the usual loading, filling, stoppering and crimping stations into a single, continuous Unlock-Fill-Close sequence.

The platform also supports a new generation of PFAS-free, tamper-evident vials, designed to simplify qualification and reduce environmental impact without compromising sterility. With an ultra-compact footprint, lower CAPEX/OPEX, and full compliance with Annex 1 and GMP standards, DecFill® XP is built for applications spanning pharma, biotech, compounding, cell and gene therapy, radiopharmaceuticals, diagnostics, personalized healthcare and ophthalmology.

A New Single-Use Bioreactor for Flexible Bioprocessing

Also on the stand is Dec’s new single-use bioreactor, designed to bring flexibility and contamination control to modern biopharmaceutical manufacturing. Its disposable product-contact components eliminate the need for cleaning and sterilization between batches, cutting turnaround times and removing cleaning validation requirements for the fluid path altogether.

By avoiding product carryover and cross-contamination risk, the system supports safe, reliable production while enabling rapid changeovers, reduced downtime and lower utility consumption, making it suitable for both clinical and commercial-scale bioprocessing.

PTS Live – Contained Powder Transfer in Action

Rounding out the stand, Dec’s renowned Powder Transfer System (PTS) will be running live throughout the show, demonstrating smooth, fully contained powder transfer alongside liquid filling on the exhibited machines. PTS combines pressure and vacuum to move even wet, sticky powders and coarse granules over distance as if they were liquid, all without compromising containment or hygiene.
