Dec Group bringing innovative technologies to CPHI Japan
Ecublens, Switzerland: – World-leader in materials handling and process solutions Dec Group will show several significant new advanced technologies at the major Asian event CPHI Japan in Tokyo.
The Dec Group stand at Booth 3F-31 in Hall 3 of the Tokyo Big Sight Exhibition Center will include systems for highly contained bag charging and emptying, and for micronizing very small quantities of material, Dec will also stage live demonstrations of the latest iteration of its world-renowned Powder Transfer System material handling technology.
Isocharge high containment bag handling
One stand highlight will be Dec‘s Isocharge that combines hybrid design, cross-laminar flow technology with glove box isolation to provide the operator with the protection of a gloved visor but the flexibility of an open laminar flow booth to allow rapid dispensing and charging of powders into any process. The open sided stainless steel handling chamber enables easier loading of bagged powder, while keeping overall containment level below 1 μg per cubic meter, even with door open.
For safe removal of contaminated bags after emptying them into the hopper, Isocharge is supplied with an endless liner port with a cover fully integrated through the chamber base. It can be fully coupled with PTS, including linked control from one station.
MC DecJet® Lab Scale micronization
Also on show in Tokyo, the MC DecJet® 30 R&D system provides research teams with the perfect tool for micronizing very small quantities of material, down to one fifth of a gram. This is a standalone solution that uses its own nitrogen supply for pressure to feed powders at subsonic speeds through a venturi into a cylindrical milling chamber, where particles are accelerated by a series of perimeter jets into a supersonic spiral, achieving micronization through particle collision.
Very precise PSD particle size distribution can be achieved by independent control of grind pressure, feed pressure and feed rate, giving the MC DecJet 30 very high scalability, up to 800 kg/h. A further distinctive feature is the single collection point, ensuring very high batch homogeneity.
PTS on show
Dec will also use CPHI Japan to show the latest version of its PTS Powder Transfer System® that combines pressure and vacuum to achieve very complete contained material transfers over distance, moving even wet sticky powders and coarse granules as if they were liquid.
The unique PTS filtration concept with flat makes this the only vacuum dense-phase system available that can be fully sterilized. PTS provides a significant enhancement to any process, accelerating production while providing total containment, hygiene and safety.
New Technology Seminars
Dec is returning as an established presence at CPHI Japan and this year will be hosting half hour new technology seminars on successive days.
On Day Two of the event, it will discuss ‘The Cutting Edge of Continuous Manufacturing Equipment for Pharmaceutical APIs in Europe’ (Room 2A, 1600 hrs, April 22).
On Day Three the Dec Technology Seminar will provide an ’Introduction to Micro-Quantity Powder Filling Equipment for Dual-Chamber Syringes and Related Devices’ (Room 1B, 1130 hrs., April 23).
Both seminars will be presented by Dec Japan Director Kenichi Yoshida, who will also lead the stand team in Tokyo.

About CPhI Japan 2026
CPhI Japan is Asia’s second largest pharma expo and one of the most prestigious events on the global pharma industry calendar.
CPhI Japan 2026 will be a three-day event opening April 21 at Tokyo’s Big Sight Exhibition Center, addressing Japan as ‘Asia’s engine for advanced drug discovery.’
Once again, the face-to-face show will be accompanied by an online virtual platform, CPhI Japan Connect. Together, the two platforms are expected to attract more than 35,000 physical and virtual visitors with some 800 exhibiting organizations representing 70 nations.
As before, both the physical and virtual events will incorporate the CPhI expo and six other zoned exhibitions: ICSE for outsourcing solutions, P-MEC (including LabWorld) for machinery and equipment, bioLIVE for biopharma developments, InnoPack for delivery systems and packing, FDF for finished dosage products, and NEX for natural extracts.
The event is organized by Informa and UBM Japan with further information at: https://www.cphi.com/japan/en/home.html
