Boston Scientific names Mikron its Automation Supplier of the Year

Boudry, Switzerland: – Medical assembly process specialist Mikron Automation has been named ‘Automation Company of the Year’ by one of the world’s largest and most successful medical device manufacturers.

Boston Scientific, Cork, is an operating arm of Boston Scientific Corp that manufactures a diversified portfolio of medical devices for markets worldwide. It selected Mikron as the award winner in recognition of its impeccable quality, prompt delivery and cost efficiency in respect of supply of an advanced assembly platform.

Fast ramp-up

“On top of this, Mikron proved its machine flexibility. Despite short-term adjustments to the project and modified equipment design, the machine was delivered on time and now runs with a high efficiency after a very short ramp-up time,” commented Mikron Automation Mikron’s Head of Marketing and Business Development, Jean-Francois Bauer.

Vice President for Operations at Boston Scientific, Cork, Sean Gayer presented the award to a team from Mikron during a recent visit to the Cork facility.

The award came shortly after Mikron Group released 2018 results showing significant year-on-year increases in incoming orders and net sales growth of 26.8%, with Mikron Automation orders up almost 60%.
