Delft, The Netherlands:- Dutch-based upstream bioprocess equipment specialist Applikon Biotechnology B.V. (Applikon) will be a prominent presence as exhibitor and sponsor at the upcoming European Society for Animal Cell Technology (ESACT) annual meeting in Copenhagen.

The 26th ESACT meeting will open May 5 at the Bella Center in Copenhagen, where Applikon will have a stand at Booth 37/38, displaying its most recent advances in upstream bioprocessing.

Customized single-use bioreactors

Centerpieces of the display will be the latest additions to the Applikon range of customizable single-use stirred-tank bioreactors, the desktop-sized AppliFlex ST 500 mL and 3L versions that can be used as single units as well as parallel processing systems.

Both use the advanced Applikon my-Control for process parameter control offering virtually unlimited control options. They include mass flow control for gas supply, connection of balances for gravimetric feed or harvest as standard options along with Applikon’s auto tuning adaptive control to guarantee optimal process control independent of changing process conditions.

The AppliFlex ST solution uses 3D printing technology to provide a head plate that is uniquely configured to each individual process, including custom impeller design, and different sample port connections.

Turnkey multi bioreactor platform

AppliFlex ST can easily be integrated in Applikon’s turnkey multi bioreactor platform, Matrix. With this integrated solution, the customer has complete freedom of choice in bioreactor system set-up. “With Matrix we offer our customers a platform that adapts to their specific demands. The customer decides the number of parallel bioreactor systems, single-use or multi-use, and also the relevant software, sampling tools and analytical devices that match their budget”, stated International Sales & Marketing Director, Erik Kakes. “By building their optimal solution they can do more in less time and improve their bioprocess performance”.

All connected bioreactors can be managed and controlled from one central point. The multi-reactor interface shows real-time data of all systems in one shot. Data will be saved from one central point as well. Simple operations for efficient bioprocessing!

About ESACT 2019

The European Society for Animal Cell Technology (ESACT) as an organization that promotes the communication of knowledge and experience between scientists and engineers whose work has a direct or indirect bearing on cell culture biotechnology and the products derived from it.

ESACT actively encourages interactions between academia, governmental and policy making agencies, and the manufacturing and service industries, such as the international Good Cell Culture Practice (GCCP) Guidance Document.

The 26th ESACT annual meeting is a two-day event opening May 5, 2019 at the Bella Center in Copenhagen. Themed “Cell culture technologies: bridging academia and industry to provide solutions for patients”, the conference will feature numerous scientific presentations, engaging and interactive poster sessions, and a social programme designed to promote interactions and networking, along with pre-meeting satellite events.

The event is organized by ESACT with further information at: http://www.esact2019.com/
